Turakirae Head Scientific Reserve
Amazing place with lots of wildlife, amazing and unique coastal rock formations and views to the Wairarapa. Well worth the easy 20 minute hike. Take your zoom lenses as the fur seals shouldn’t be approached too closely. Pretty wild coast prone to heavy winds so prepare in advance.

An easy and scenic walk and the seals on the rocks just adds to the experience. It’s also possible to walk from Wainuiomata to the Wairapara along the well marked track.
