There were a couple of really interesting exhibits on while I was there. The struggle of the maori authors made for fascinating reading

Excellent work by New Zealand portrait artists, we particularly enjoined a generational study of the maternal side of a Māori family.

Unfortunately on the day of our visit there was only a very small selection of art to view. The majority of gallery space was being overhauled for a new exhibition. A Lovely historic wharf building is home to this gallery and there could have been more information on it's previous use.

My favourite art gallery in Wellington. It's quite compact, so you can spend time looking at each painting photo and not get overwhelmed by hundreds. They change their exhibits regularly, which is a bonus.

The two exhibitions at Shed 11 were both very much worth the visit. The everyday many portraits of one man by phone of the other were fascinating to sit and scan, our eyes roving amongst them. The short video helped further our understanding of the process. The second was of contemporary Maori arts. The range and wide use of media, both modern and old meant that we could learn artists' techniques and viewpoints.Well over an hour's time we'll spent.

Its fine. A lot crammed in to an already small space, and injudicious use of the centre of the room, made it feel cramped and forced us up close to the works. We were there to see the Cook exhibition on Hamilton East in the 1990s.

Absolutely loved the quality of the work in here and the variety. We popped in for a look and it was peaceful and relaxing and I particularly loved this seraphine pick painting stunning!
