Very poor service . I have a travel insurance. Trying to get a refund due to my travel agents Expedia did not send me the right criteria to enter Thailand . Flight still current. No help have been put off . Told to ring flight expedia all sorts . I paid for a good 5ravel insurance is to cover me for CV ivid as well, now trying to make a claim . Wow to not recommend this company vat all very sad AIG.

one of the worst travel insurance company ever, got insurance for a domestic flight, flight got cancelled and the rest of all the other international flight got cancelled. they claim to provide compensation for all the additional charges due to the cancelation but at the end just sent email that the domestic is refunded. thats all....... insurance is to cover ur unexpected charges from a service recovery

Avoid travel insurance underwritten by AIG (or names like AIG travelassist), many policies are. Especially the easy online onesThey will leave you for dead if any problem. Clever use of delay tactics.. checking your medical records, losing your application, not progressing until contacted etc to avoid paying a claim. There's a policy clause saying they won't pay anything unless pre approved, then they delay delay delay until you have to act without the pre-approval, then don't pay out.Certainly they won't help you in any time of need either. I have a friend who needed airlifting and luckily insured elsewhere, this company would never do that for you.Travel can be risky and dangerous, you need a company that will have your back, they are out there. Not this one.They will be great taking your money and when you don't need to claim of course.

Omg the worst insurance company I have ever come across in my life, seriously would definitely address them as liers or frauds. First of all they labeled our house damage as a gradual damage, (which was not at all a gradual damage)and after few heated arguments with the them, they finally said that if we can get it proved through a qualified builder that it’s not a gradual damage, they Will definitely pay us out for the cost of repair. “PETER RYAN” was the person who emailed us this that they would pay us the money if the builder approves that it’s not gradual damage. So now after the builder told the insurance company that it’s definitely not a gradual damage, now they brought in another way of manipulating us and not paying us out saying that the builder doesn’t know where the leak in the house is. These uneducated people don’t know that in order to find a leak they will have to open the whole floor area and check where the leak is. What does the position of the leak has to do with the damage, when it’s not even a gradual damage. These people are such liars and frauds, am gonna take this case to new Zealand media. And also to higher authorities for whatever scam they have been doing with there customers. Such a bad bad bad company (AMI) to get your insurance done. Don’t recommend anyone to come to these people.

After the death of my mother i had to bring forward my dates of cover, so I could get to the funeral. They refused to do so saying it was because the person I was going with was not going to the funeral they would not move the dates. They then refused to extend my insurance and would not give any insurance advising me to go elsewhere

As they now have more than a large share of the market they have the monopoly over all other smaller insurers, is this fair? Also if you go to any panel and paint shops to get quotes you will find out that they are all linked, and your first quote for repair with match the next.You will have to go to a independent repair shop whose not linked to the insurance Company. I found this out a few years back. May be the regulators need to take a look. Most likely they can get a way with this in New Zealand only!

Took 4 weeks for them to finally process our insurance claims to only deny it. Our flight was cancelled due to staffing issues and we had to rebook for 2 days later for the next available flights to continue our trip but had lost money for booked accommodations, car rental, activities etc For the timeframe in between. They wouldn’t accept this claim even though we purchased insurance to cover these. They also asked why we continued our trips even though our flight was cancelled omg. Because we already paid for lots of bookings accommodations and flight tickets back and rental car still waiting to be picked up?! Don’t bother with this scammy company. Southern cross and cover more will 100% pay out.

Terrible customer services, my Van got stolen and the insurance wrote it off even though the repair was all superficial, they then sent the Campervan with all my personal belongings to a salvage yard over an hour away from my house and expect me to take the day off work to collect my personal items at my expense.Trying to resolve this problem has been a nightmare, will never use AIG again.
