Golden Stairs Walking Track
Excellent views, track forms part of loop Pawarenga to Mitimiti via beach then Warawara track back to Pawarenga. Start of track difficult to find, we must have overshot it so just navigated to the ridge. DOC does not seem to do any maintenance on this loop via beach/Warawara's. Once on staircase ridge, track is very open.

Golden Stairs Walking Track
Only accessible at low tides, first drive through Pawarenga and onto the sand, park near the third Marae (Above the tide mark, it comes in Very fast!), then 20 minutes hike down the rivers edge to the (Very overgrown) start of the track. Bush-wack your way to the ridgeline, then follow the faint trail along the top of that to the top
