Reception was pleasent and efficient.Great location close to beach.Booked a self contained unit. No beach view but in a quiet spot. Windows were dirty and streaky like they had been cleaned but with something that wasn't glass cleaner. There were finger marks on the bathroom door. Bathroom was nice. But kitchenette had no sink or basin. You had to use the bathroom, not ideal. And no hot water on my final night and morning. Granted I didn't alert management as it was late plus I needed to be away reasonably early in the morning.Park generally needs a make over particularly the gravel lane ways to get around the park.

Great place right on the beach. Very clean and the showers were hot. My parents stayed in a room and it smelled horrible, like a dead animal. Other then this our stay was great

We wanted to book here for a 4 -5 day stay in our caravan but when checking out there pricing, we came to an immediate halt, this must undoubtabley be NZs most expensive holiday park.We will never return here, just to be ripped off.

A fantastic spot to be and a well appointed Holiday Park for all the family, being there reminded me of going away for summer as a kid. There is also a fantastic market on the weekend full of very cool and diverse products.

Would be a nice place to stay during fine weather. The minimum stay of 5 days over the summer period appears to be for some and not others as the people on the site next to us booked for 2 nights but left after 1 night. We had to book and pay for 5 nights also leaving after 1 night. We were given a site that was right over the access way to the TV room. We asked to be moved as people had to walk right through our camp to access this communal area. We were told they were fully booked and we could not be moved whereas in actual fact the campground was barely 50% occupied. Shower time was limited to 3 minutes but due to the cold water temperature in the showers we didn't even make 1 minute. We checked the water temperature at varying times and it was never any warmer. Reports from other guests were the showers are never warm. But in the kitchen area you can't put your hands under the taps as the water is so hot.The one star rating is due to shower temperature, value for money as this was the most expensive campsite on our holiday and the lack of staff willingness to overcome a very simple problem.

We booked in july for late October and payed deposit and requested a partlcular site. On arrival our site was occupied by people who were told 2 park anywhere. Management weren't slightest bit caring and said we hadn't paid deposit either and i had to produce details proving we had. Small noisy motorcycles were also being driven around camp and we were told 2 sort it out ourselves as they were good clients" Gregory P"

Very well organised camp site. Great showers, clean facilities, excellent communal kitchen and friendly staff.Make sure you try the home made fruit ice cream at the camp shop and the coffee is great as well.We watched the sunset every night, swam in the ocean every day as it’s super safe. It is simply stunning part of New Zealand and we have booked for next year already.

Visited friends who were camping there for a week - impressed with the location, ease of the visit and the facilities were tidy. Made for a very relaxing afternoon ☺️

You pay a premium; but only get average in return. Paid in full, in advance for a 5 day minimum stay; which seemed excessive on its own. Motel is hardly motel quality; cabin at best. Got 6 emails saying “no dogs”; left ours at home….dogs everywhere. Very unfriendly and unhelpful staff…but they have a monopoly; so if you want the safe beach and quiet location, you get what is given!!
