Chanced upon this gem of a place while driving around Cromwell. Bill was so kind to show us around the place, we got to feed the sheep, eat apples, pears and so much more! Wandered around Cromwell looking for berry picking when we chanced upon Poplar Estate. Bill walked out front and explained to us that there was generally no cherry picking this season but he could give us a tour of his farm. He showed us heritage cherry trees, peaches, plums and nectarines. The sweetest we have tasted right off the tree ( of course plucked by Bill himself). Loved the experience and left with cherries and raspberry jam made on the farm. Great guy and great experience.
