It may have changed since i stayed here in august— but the hostel draws in a very sketchy crowd of local homeless. I didn’t feel safe staying there & left my reservation early to stay at the Marion (which is WAYYYY better). The layout isn’t very communal, with so many strange corridors. Location is okay.The price is cheap, but you get what you pay for. The best part of the hostel is the neighborhood cat who is usually sleeping outside.

A decent hostel for a short stay. Great location. It’s not cosy though and the room I got was a bit dark, facing the outdoor patio where people came to party at night so it was hard to sleep. There’s lots of space to cook and the kitchen was clean. Common areas were also nice and they organise events such as movie nights.

Booked a private room which was clean and big. The shared areas of this hostel are quite dirty beginning with the sofas on the reception area which seem to be covered in bird poo? Check in was late because of staff shortages (this seems to be a common theme) and the reception staff were quite rude. The corridor of our room had several bathrooms and a kitchen. The bathrooms all had some gross feature about them (someone else's underwear on the floor, trash or toilet paper on the floor). This hostel is a party hostel for those in their early 20s. Would recommend not booking here unless that's your vibe.

Great location away from traffic noise. Good to be able to pay extra to park in carpark right next door. 4 bed dorm has very comfortable beds nice sheets. But having 10+ rooms directly off kitchen made it pretty noisy and all sharing only two dirty showers/toilet rooms not great

Pros: Affordable, convenient luggage storage after checkout and well located.Cons: Smelly kitchen, untidy bathrooms, beds not very comfortable.Trek Global Backpackers offers budget-friendly accommodation with handy luggage storage. However, the kitchen and bathrooms need improvement in terms of cleanliness. Beds are decent considering the price.

A youth hostel with a good location, very convenient for travel. The kitchen equipment is also fully equipped. However, something that annoyed us just happened. We were preparing to have breakfast in the kitchen at 9:10 am. At this time, two staff members in work uniforms appeared and began to sand the walls and blow them with fans. , the kitchen and corridors are dusty, and one is being painted, we can't have breakfast, this moment breaks all the good things in this youth hostel! Hope to respect every traveler here

Worst hostel we've been. Placed on tol of a hill, impossible for wheelchair users. We were at level 1st : Dirty facilities and rooms, not enough showers and toilets of curse because both are in the same room and kitchen too much small. You cant cook if anyone is already in the kitchen. In our last day we didn't know at what time whas the check out, no one came to us to say anything but at the end they asked" us 40$ because we were late. While the cleaner wasnt cleaning the rooms yet. Really bad experience

The hostel is in a great location in Central Wellington. The onsite parking was secure and really convienent for us to park the car. However the hostel was extremely noisy. The rooms on each floor all come off a central communal area with a tiny kitchen meaning you can hear every word of conversation right outside your door. The walls are super thin too, so much so that you can actually see the light for the adjacent room around the edges. We were woken up at 7am each morning by the staff cleaning the kitchen super loud with no respect for guests. Yes they have a noise curfew from 11pm-7am but it doesn't stop people being loud. Overall there was just no peace and quiet. There is a kitchen on each floor but it is tiny - 2 is a crowd! Only one stove top and you cant cook with someone else in there. Bathrooms were nice - sink, shower and toilet all in one but there were only 3 on each floor. Rooms were good size and had lockable cupboard for storage but very dirty - walls all marked and loads of dust in corners of ceiling so didn't feel clean. Overall great location and fine for a night or 2 but you won't get much sleep!

pretty great place! staff was super friendly and put on events (some with free food) almost every day of the week. felt super safe especially having a security guard onsite overnight making routine rounds. communal spaces were cleaned regularly and everyone I interacted with was friendly.

Great location however that’s about the best thing I can say about it.We arrived just before 3pm( checking is from 2pm) were given keys to our room. Arrived at room to find it filthy, beds unmade rubbish overflowing. Told reception who said they were short staffed?! We had to leave and go for an hours walk as room was unusable. No compensation offered.Later that evening while putting the sheets given to us on the bed, we discovered one sheet had spots of blood on it!The bathrooms were filthy at all times, with rubbish overflowing from the bins.I would not recommend staying here, it’s filthy.Honestly spend a few more dollars and find an alternative
