We just stopped in for coffee and we're pleased to see she offered gf scones and torte. The scone was to die for!!! Melt in your mouth amazement. My partner could not believe it was gluten free! The coffee was also superb! Perfect stop on the long track!

On our two month NZ road trip, this cafe is up there with the best. Freshly baked pies and cakes, pastries and good coffee, add up to this cafe becoming an oasis of good food. There are not many dairies and cafes on this stretch of main highway, and rest stops can disappoint. We remember this cafe as a standout stop, enhanced by charming and helpful cooks/service.

It was raining and we stopped by just for a coffee and we stayed hours! Delicious food, veggie and non-gluten options, tasty tea and coffee and a cozy place with great and friendly people!

What an amazing find! Such a breath of fresh air from the constant stream of fried food in Franz Josef.Delicious and healthy food, great company. This is definitely a standout on the West Coast, and worth hunting out on your trip. Sweet, savory, salad, all well catered for.
