Simeon Brown is one of the hardest working and most visible MP's to the people of his electorate.

Not open at 16:40 on a Thursday. No hours posted on the door or Google. Needs to try harder. Could do better.

The first thing that needs to be addressed for this office is the clear accessibility issue. The office appears to be elevated higher than it should be and there is no ramp. Only a very worn down and poorly maintained set of steps. It must be very easy to miss a step on your way into the office.Once I made my way into the office, I was overwhelmed by the smell, a combination of Werther’s Original and Seagram's Gin. I asked the receptionist if it was a hangover from Maurice Williamson’s tenure that cleaning staff had been unable to remove, but she assured me the place smelt of rainbows while he was in office. I’m sorry I could not have visited earlier.Simeon’s love of faith and family was on strong display with a beautiful family photo, elegantly framed hanging above an antique closet held shut by a large cross. I am not sure what exactly the right honourable Simeon Brown is keeping in that closet but it appeared to be bursting at the seams. The office otherwise was very minimal in decoration so I’m sure he could let something come out of his closet if he felt the need. The office is close to a serene harbour walk, and next door to one of Auckland’s most well known Private Schools, Saint Kentigern College. An ideal location for any old boys on the favour trail. Father’s with troubled youth have an ideal chance to kill two birds with one stone here. I however could not get a straight answer to my laundry enquiries and parking validation was only available for Masonic Centre members. The office did not offer a babysitting service, the receptionist informed me that Simeon has a very strict ‘your baby, your problem’ policy. I found this to be very strange for such a proud pro-life and family man but I would advise simply keeping your child close by instead of the option offered to a mother in the waiting room which was to have her young child driven 30 minutes away to Judith Collin’s office.I would recommend this experience for anyone, apart from people who have had pre-marital relations, those with criminal records, anyone who identifies as any part of the rainbow community or maybe even just tried a few things in college, leather jacket wearers, listeners of punk rock or smooth jazz, women who want body autonomy and people who have tried marijuana cigarettes.
