Pekapeka regional park
Great place to go for a walk around the wetlands and enjoy the bird life which includes swans, ducks and swallows. There were a couple of large roosters in the carpark as well.There are some long boardwalks that make a loop trail and there is a path to the top of the hill where there is a view point.There are also a few places with picnic tables that would be great spots to have a packed lunch while enjoying the views.

A nice free attraction with plenty of parking. No toilets here. Our highlight was seeing two dabchicks. Wheelchair accessible. Allow yourself 30 mins to an hour to take it all in at a slow pace.

Lovely walk around the place and was pleased to see the wildlife. I'd take a picnic with you and enjoy the peace and quiet. I'll definitely be doing that next time. In the summer don't forget your sunblock you'll need it.

Great little walk surrounded by bird song. Good paths with a few picnic tables and seats to take in the view. Right off the main road so easy to access this lovely little spot.

An excellent place for a short walk. There are usually not a lot of people around - especially in the morning. Hence, making this place a great spot for quiet bird watching.

It's a nice place to chill. If you love nature this is a great place for you to be. And it's probably one of the places that resembles a natural serenity with the interference of man. The wetlands have a huge algae problem, hence has a strong unpleasant smell in certain parts of the swamp.
