Opotiki Holiday Park

Stayed a night here en route to the East Cape. Shower unusable....only a trickle of luke warm water on a freezing cold night. The bathroom basin so small hard to even wash my hands. Two hot plates in the kitchen area.... one did not work at all and the other never got past slightly warm. The owner was not at all bothered when we told her....comfortable bed and bedding was clean

The campground is quite run-down and the facilities could use a good clean. It was fine for one night but I wouldn't want to stay longer.

Luke warm experience. The facilities are quite run down, the location is convenient but not amazing. Service we had was nice, but felt a bit rushed. If you're after a place to sleep, a kitchen and a hot shower this is the place for you. If you're after anything more, keep looking. We didn't mind the overall experience, but will not return. A big reason for us not wanting to come back is the grounds keeper (I think?) felt the urge to turn on his vehicles in the middle of the night and early hours in the morning and kept them running for an absurd amount of time, accompanied by a lot of door banging. We were woken up three times during the night so we left a day early. A holiday is meant to be relaxing and you're meant to wake up refreshed, not even more run down. If you do stay here, stay as far as possible from the little hut in the back and you might get some sleep.

We stayed here for about a week or so and the host was so lovely and friendly, nothing was to much trouble. all the amenities were kept clean and tidy,and the kitchen had plenty of pots and pans and anything else you might need if you had forgotten to bring it with you. Dogs (and cats) are welcome here also. If we are ever in opotiki again we will definitely stay here..

Cheap and welcoming place, perfect for a worry free place to stay. The pool is great and you can even go see and feed the horse that lives in the paddock next door! Pet friendly, we take our small dog and the owners are accommodating.

Was recommended by family so stayed here for 2 nights, Raje is a lovely and helpful lady, has all amenities if not staying in a family room, good value for money especially if on a tight budget, it maybe a bit rundown, but it is a home away from home, close to township aswell.

My boyfriend and I stayed arround 4-5 months here as we were working in kiwi orchards! We've been really happy to stay here, the price was really cheap for the place! The cleaner is awesome and worked very hard to make the place like a home. Raje the owner is so nice!We can have 7min of hot shower for 1$ which is enough and if you want you still can have a cold shower for free. The kitchen is really big so you always have space to cook and There is as well a tv room with sofa if you want to do nothing during the rainy day.We were feeling like home And appreciate the place! Thank's for everythings

We stayed few weeks, and we had a lovely time in this holiday park. Close to the center, and well equipped (clean kitchen with oven, cookers, 2 fridges (1 recently arrived) and 2 freezers), clean bathrooms and laundry. Not to far from the river and sea, but this camp has a small swimming pool if you are to lazy to walk to the beach. The owners have been very helpful, every time we needed. Thank you very much! Of course, we recommend!

We stayed there 3 nights in a basic cabin with kitchen.THE GOOD :*Staff*Prices*Pet friendly* Location, close to shops and the beach*CleanTHE BAD:*Run down*Location wasn't very relaxing. There were bikes and cars speeding outside and we also witnessed an episode of domestic violence just outside (by locals and past the park's perimeter).*Terrible water pressure*Some appliances didn't work* It seemed there were many people there living at the park. They were all very nice but it didn't feel like we were on holiday.Conclusion : the place is nice enough and we had everything we needed and everything was clean and pleasant enough. The staff and guests were nice. I wouldn't go there again for a holiday, thought but I'd gladly stay there overnight if I was in that town for any particular reason.*please note the pictures taken of the cabin were taken at checkout.

After reading the reviews, I was a little tentative to stay here but I was not the decision maker so we went. I got there and was greeted by one of the team and it was friendly and nice which put my mind at ease and thought it might be good after all. After pitching my tent and getting settled I visited the bathrooms. In a run down and tired building, the facilities worked well enough however, the black spots of mould all around the floors in the male toilets, combined with the smell made me not want to shower and the uncleaned blocked toilet quickly pulled me out of my false sense of security and made me not want my young son to even touch the floors (bearing in mind I had just come from camping at a council camp site with only a long drop which I was happy enough to use the week before as they were clean).Both myself and the family camping with us (bearing in mind we are both tradies) figured the site has a lot of potential to be fantastic and would only take an investment of around $20-30k spent on rejuvenatung the property plus some good old elbow grease to have the place looking good enough to be passable.The stay was great thanks to the other campers and our family staying but the lack of cleanliness was a disappointment
