Very surprised to read some of these reviews. I've been going here for about 7 years and have only received impeccable service and care. I deal with mental health issues and would go as far too say my doctor there may have even saved my life. I want to move overseas but am actually apprehensive because I'm terrified to have to find another doctor. And the reason they are always running behind is because the doctors here never watch the clock. Don't complain about them running behind because you wouldn't want them to watch the clock during your appointment.

4.45pm I have just waited on the telephone to speak to someone for 8 minutes - how long do I have to wait, how inefficient is this medical practice? My family has been using this practice for about 40 years - the deterioration is marked over the last few years and I am still waiting for someone to pick up the phone! I give 1 star because at least the phone is still ringing. And the blood is still pouring.

This doctors always run appointments 20-30 minutes late so you need to always accommodate for this. One appointment I told them when booking I really had to be on time as I had an important meeting I couldn’t move. They said yes. The day of appointment I emailed two hours before asking if their appointments were running late as I really couldn’t be late. They replied saying it was fine. We’ll here I am standing outside 35 minutes after my appointment time with a 15 month old who is losing it (we are having to wait out front too near a main road where there is no gate - anyone with a toddler will know how hard it is containing them for this long!) when I went in to check on my appointment they were incredibly rude even though I really couldn’t have been politer. The whole thing is quite shocking. They clearly don’t value peoples times or understand some mothers are working also and can’t wait around for an hour before their appointment.

I’ve been going to this practice for about 6 years and have nothing but good things to say about them. Due to mental health reasons I see memc every 3 months and even when my doc is booked out I’ve always been treated as part of a family. Sure I’ve had to wait 5-15 minutes sometimes but it’s a doctor, sometimes thing run longer than expected. I’m not sure about too sure about some of these other reviews as I’ve never experienced anything negative and some of the reviews arnt even by people who have been there.

This is probably the first negative review I’ve given. I was booked for appointment twice and had to wait 30minutes to 1hr in both instances. I wasn’t informed of the delay and had to ask them myself after 45 minutes of waiting. Another instance called to ask for some information over the phone and one of nurses was talking down to me in a condescending manner. Except for one of the doctors being very kind and helpful I haven’t really had any nice experience to share. The consultation fee is also not worth it given having to wait that long and not being treated very kindly. Enrolling to a new practice as I feel disheartened having MEMC to rely on.

Couldn't get my usual Dr so went with Dr Hutchinson. Had to wait 1.5 hrs, that's 90 minutes. Thats suicidal in the business world. Imagine keeping a customer waiting for 90 minutes at the counter. I felt like charging Mt Eden Medical Centre my hourly rate to recoup. However, due to smart phones, I had a very productive 90 minutes in the car doing business and got through a lot of emails. When I did eventually see Dr Hutchinson, I knew the reason why. He is old school. Does not believe in keeping to 15 min time slots but rather 1950s chit chatter about nothing. Good sense of humour. May work with his older clients, but not the time conscious generation coming through. He did however, give good medical advice.

The nurse, the doctor, the entire process was outstanding! I wish I had a medical centre like this back home. Thank you… and pls know that the genuine care and personality you show is recognised and appreciated!!!

Don't bother wasting your time and money! Second time now that i request a repeat of my ongoing urgent medication online and then nobody gets back to me in 4 days, then you call and they say sorry he was on leave or some excuse, and then charge you extra for a urgent script. Why have a portal to request medication online but when your dr is on leave or away due to a family emergency nobody takes care of it, just nothing happens. For the price i am expected to pay, this is ridiculous!PS: this is medication that causes severe side effects if stopped so they are putting my life at risk!

I love my doctor; and the nurse Mary is lovely, but just be prepared to wait for your appointments. Allow time for this when you book.

The staff are generally lovely, but appointment availability and wait times leave something to be desired, and I wasn't always satisfied with the quality of care I received. Despite having a note on my record and previously receiving doses in the same way, nurses would refute me and/or confirm with colleagues before administering injections the way I requested. One doctor didn't discuss an abnormal blood test with me until prompted (during an appointment for an unrelated condition a week after the results were received), and another failed to request certain tests before referring me to a specialist. Most importantly, it was incredibly difficult to repeat prescriptions for controlled drugs as the practice requires they be collected in person, though this isn't a legal requirement. My new practice sends all scripts electronically.
