We love everything about this Holiday park. There really is no better place to relax. Ryan the manger is a great guy and the place is always kept in excellent condition. The cabins are great. The bathroom and cooking facilities are brilliant. Oakura beach is amazing. Love this place

Oakura Beach Holiday Park
Awesome location but man we had an awful stay with a massive party group next to our campsite with small children. They were loud way past midnight, not respecting quiet times and campsite staff nowhere to be found, not there to fix the issue at all. Bring your earplugs or prepare for sleepless nights!

Great location on the beach, good ambiance. Unfortunately far from clean bathroom and kitchen facilities (shower cost 50 cent). Reply from staff: We only clean three times a day in summer. It is february....still summer and a busy weekend. You have to pay for wifi, 5 NZD per day. But the coverage is wobbly.

Amazing place to stay. The service is impeccable and above and beyond. Even had census forms for us to fill out and followed up the next morning. Facilities are well-maintained and very clean. Will definitely be back.

Oakura Beach Holiday Park
Great for families, the kids play all day along the driveway and at the playground. Close as to the beach which was perfect for a swim on a sunny day but it does mean the area gets very busy, seemingly with some people who are not guests of the campsite despite there being a boom gate at the front entrance, lots of cars were coming and going parking near our campsite.The sites are not private but a decent size for a car/tent. The facilities are large and mostly clean, with a code lock on the bathroom door to keep non-paying guests out.I'd say a little expensive considering you pay for showers and also pay extra for wifi, but the location to the beach and to New Plymouth is great, so weighing up the pros and cons we would come back for sure. Perhaps not over New Years as a quiet couple though, we definitely didn't do our research on the beach and campsite being such a popular New Years spot.

Oakura Beach Holiday Park
Starting with the bad first.The shower pressure is very bad and you need to pay 50c for 5min of hot water. But because of the bad pressure, you cannot shower that quickly. The windows are left open during the night as well, so if you shower too late, it is very cold. The first night our heater in the room did not work, but the next morning contacted the office and they brought a spare. The heater in the room is very old and rusted.Now for the good.The cabin was very nice and clean. The views are gorgeous. Our 6-year-old enjoyed walking on the beach and playing in the park. The BBQ area was neat and tidy and the BBQ was clean. The Kitchen area is very nice and fully equipped. The office staff were very nice and friendly.

What can I say, this is a great place to stay.All the stuff for very welcoming and very helpful. The facilities were really good and a very good standard of cleaning.The shower blocks for men and women were very clean and could cater for a number of people.There is a well-equipped kitchen with multiple cookers, sinks and worktops though you do need to provide your own cooking utensils. Also a nice selection of gas barbecues that you can use.We had booked a cabin for two which had a nice veranda with seats outside overlooking the sea.The beach itself was very nice with fine black sand and a people out surfing and kite surfing when we were there.Lifeguards were present during the day with swimming recommended between the flags.A nice location for exploring the local area or even just relaxing on the beach all day.
