Have had 2 surgeries here in the last year and a half, the nurses are so lovely, attentive and you can tell they genuinely care. Thanks for lovely experiences Southern Cross and team.

Amazing hospital with the best staff. Its a pity public hospitals arent like this!

Can’t get ahold em when you need assistance

I'm kind of a hospital connoisseur at this point, and let me just say that the staff at Southern Cross Wellington are the best I have ever encountered.The nurses were so kind and thoughtful, making us feel comfortable during the admission, sneaking my partner coffee because he isn't a morning person etc.Checking in constantly, and then adjusting my care plan when I had a very minor reaction to the anesthetic. I have never felt so well looked after.Thank you all so much.

Have been with Southern Cross Health Insurance for a number of years. They grossly misinterpreted the information I gave them and are not helpful to their clients. Their staff are not familiar with their own policy as well. So I decided to cancel the policy for another insurer. Everyone dealing with them must exercise caution.

Went to see Dr Heinau today he is an incredibly kind thorough surgeon . I suffer badly with medical anxiety himself, the nurse ,the radiologist, also the girls at front desk are so reassuring. Highly recommend Southern Cross Newtown . Thank you .

I had a the best experience I could have ever asked for. I had massive anxiety before the surgery and all the staff that I dealt with were absolutely amazing. I had lumbar fusion rods and screws l5 to s1 replaced vertabrae and bone graft. Before the surgery I limped into the hospital hunched over. It's been 7 days and I can walk around the house without that pain, it's a bit tender from surgery as expected. The surgeon was amazing the after care was amazing the food was great. They got me walking a day later and the encouragement and support was so good. Thank you southern cross and the team you looked after me and welcomed my wife and our young kids.

Wife went in for a hysterectomy in 2017 during the operation some sterilizing liquid made contact with a heart rate monitoring pad causing a third degree chemical burn.When we inquired about this we were told they had no knowledge of this and nothing was mentioned by post op staff. After a bit of digging, the specialist who organized the operation admitted that there had been an accident during surgery but as he wasn't present couldn't tell us what had happened.We approached the malpractice ombudsman and laid a case against Southern Cross but this has been delayed as Southern Cross has lost my wifes surgery notes and after 2 years we have all but given up.My advice is go to another Private hospital that takes responsibility for its work and doesn't lose their patients files when their surgeons screw up.

Really lovely staff, nurses, surgery staffs etc so good even with a super anxious person like myself. Definitely recommend this place if you can afford it you’ll be very well looked after.Little bit OTT with the covid stuff. Even though me and sister were triple RAT tested I still had to put a face mask on as soon as I could after surgery, and sister had to have it on at all times too. Wish it was a little more simple when you need a surgery there and just 1 package including all fees, surgeon fees, Anastasia fees, hospital fees etc all in one rather than finding out new bits and costs as you go. Overall a very good experience and most covid stuff probably out of their control
