Pohutukawa Bay Beach
Lovely unspoilt beach but a bit of a trek to get there. Worth it though maybe to far for wee kids to walk

Pohutukawa Bay Beach
An interesting beach, where you can be free and really let yourself go. Happened to stumble on this neatly tucked away beach by accident. The people that hang at this beach are generally one with nature.Take your kids elsewhere, unless you want some very awkward questions on the way home

Your experience will vary greatly based on when you go. If it is low tide and a sunny day, this is a popular beach (mostly nude bathers) and a very nice beach with shade from the trees. At big tide there is no beach and recent tides (Nov 22) have washed a lot of the sand off the higher parts of the beach, so it has now become very rocky. At low tide it is an easy flat walk around the coast although it can be slippery on some of the rocks. At high tide you have to take the coastal track which is a very hilly 30 min walk.

Clothing-optional beach accessible during low tide; otherwise, follow the walking track from the parking to the Homestead and to the beaches and Piripiri Point or Karepiro Bay.

Pohutukawa Bay Beach
One of the secluded beaches on the Long Bay regional park. Can be accessed only on a low tide. It is not advisable to go there on a high tide. The views to the Pacific ocean are iconic. As per the name, the beauty blooms in the summer months when Pohutukawa trees blossom. Very nice place for relaxing and a quick afternoon getaway. Well recommended.

Pohutukawa Bay Beach
Beautiful beach. Not legally allowed but most people treats that place as nude beach. Not too many people, a little bit rocky but still nice to swim. You may reach by cost line when low tide
