Had a lovely 2 nights. Lovely clean unit, amazingly quiet considering its location. Lovely host who saved our bacon the day we left after we suffered a slight car in a ditch mishap!. Will come again for sure

Thanks for the great accomodation Fiona. Lovely spot with the sea so close, rainforest out the back. Enjoyed the 2 days we had there. Great rooms too. Very comfortable and well appointed.

Loved this wee 4 unit inn. Contemporary furnishings. Spotlessly clean. Lovely hosts. Loved sitting out on the long verandah at night looking at the stars. Extra touches included super large quality bath towels, and as silly as this may sound -- good quality toilet paper. High quality shampoo, soap, teas, coffees. Dogs might possibly be negotiable depending....Would definitely stay here again. I don't think their website does them justice. (Great location for the Underworld Adventures next door.) Pub right next door for dinner.

This is a bar that hasn't been operating but is in new hands and looking to reopen later in 2019. Great couple, they own Charleston Lodge next door, and they are great with food and friendly hospitality. A good one to watch :)

The position of the Lodge on the main highway was perfect for us. Our host was polite, ready for us and had recommendations for us.

I enjoyed the stay very much, very warmly welcomed from the beginning. The owner is very friendly and accommodating, lovingly prepared our breakfast. It felt like being home.The lodge is located directly on the road but at night it is quiet as a mouse. The Charleston Tavern is right next door, the food can be taken away, the menu is in the room. The beach is only a 15 minute walk away. Just before the lodge is a gold mine, right next to it underworld adventure.If we visit New Zealand again we will definitely come back.Thank you for a great stay. Andre
