Took some faulty frames back. Spoke to John who was excellent. He ordered new frames in (choice of 2 colours) I chose a pair and he popped my lenses in. Great service thank you!

Its been five years and I'm still waiting for your receptionist to call me to tell me when my glasses are ready for collection. When I went into the store after three weeks of waiting, Meek came out personally and blamed ME for YOUR delays. You're a prime example of why people don't trust NZ Retailers anymore. Get out of business with your terrible ethics.

Its a shame someone writes a one star which affects the overall score of this great business. Some people don't realise the effect of their actions. My family have dealt with Black Gates Meek & Dong for many many years and not once have had any issues. Greg Nel is great!

Great for kids. Assessment goes way beyond what Specsavers does.

My 11 year old son had his usual checkup. Got new prescription lenses for his original frames. Asked us if we wanted a backup pair, at first we said yes, then we decided they weren't needed. I rang to cancel the backup pair, to which Black Gate Meek & Dong said that was fine, but decided to put the order through anyway! Now they expect us to pay for the second pair. Not happy with this at all. Will not be going back to them again, as the staff are rude. Will not recommend this place to anyone!!!

Andrew gives the the most amazing intuitive tailored client service. He really makes you feel so excited, relaxed and confident about your eyewear needs and about your entire appearance and self. Choosing glasses and dealing with a sight issue can feel very confronting emotional and overwhelming (as we often get so used to our glasses and hide behind them etc). Andrew really has a vision - no pun intended- of his clients needs and tastes and their insecurities and fears; he truly understands what will suit your face. He suggested some styles which seemed very ‘shocking’ to my 72 year old mother but she was ultimately so pleased with what he selected for her she bought all three frames and ‘feels she has a new vitality and beauty’ ! Glasses cotribute so much to how we see and how we see ourselves. Andrews enthusiasm, sense of style and extensive knowledge of products and of people is rare in customer service these days.

Friendly staff, very helpful and clear with explanations regarding a new prescription for glasses.

I was really impressed with the service and help Sita Thakersi gave me on my recent eye test visit. She really knew her stuff and provided some complimentary contact lenses to try, which have really helped improve my vision. I'm happy to recommend Sita to anyone.
