Europcar Auckland Airport

A truly horrible customer service experience.The link provided in the email to Google maps led to entirely the wrong direction leading to me having to walk all around the airport campus and picking the car up an hour late.The staff at the kiosk was throughly unhelpful with me having to walk them through the steps needed to work out the pricing difference to change the insurance coverage level. The only reason I chose Europcar over cheaper competitors was the option of having a manual car. When I arrived I was told that they never had manual cars. I explained that I had paid extra for the manual and was given a blank look from the staff who then, I learned later, said that I was complaining about being the more expensive" automatic option. Utterly useless. Clearly a care of false advertising showing a car with a higher cost that you don't even have the option of renting out.I then had to sign the contract. One of the clauses on the rental contract says that I have been provided with the "driving in new Zealand" booklet and that in signing the contract I agree that this was recieved. When I noted this I got blown off

landing in Auckland airport there are no clear instructions on where to collect car. After walking to domestic as instructed, over 1km there us a hand written sign stating to go to international as they are short staffed.When you get to international, the booths are closed and there is poorly signed instructions directing you to the collection site. Then when you finally find the office which took me over a hour of walking to and from domestic. They have one staff member so it is another 20min wait.I tried to call as well and the phones don't work, very poor service for such a large company.

Great range of vehicles to choose from, friendly and helpful staff. Vehicles have always been clean and well maintained. My last trip I was very spoiled with a free upgrade to a electric BMW.

The best rental car provider at any airport. I travel quite alot in many countries and Europcar has been my go to. Efficient and very smooth transition of picking up and dropping cars even to an airport I am new too. Signs and direction to office and car drop offs are just excellent with outstanding service. Recommendation 10/10

Avoid this company at all costs. 0 stars if I could. Overcharging and dodgy practice seem a common theme on here. Check your car thoroughly for damage prior to leaving. We were charged an extra day for being 40 minutes early and charged an extra $100 with our original quote not being honoured. No receipt provided at pickup and excuses made that the pending transaction was the banks fault. I have subsequently informed Europcar customer service and have had no explanation of the overcharging. Read all reviews before booking.

One star is generous I wish I could give none, never rent a car from Auckland airport branch!! Honestly go next door to any of the other companies its not worth the hassle here.Our awful experience included:- Rudest check in lady ever- charged a extra day hire to then be- charged for 47ltrs of fuel that I did not use- my credit card fraudulently charged over 21 times ($17k+!) to which my banks fraud team then cancelled all of my cards.I have had to waste hours of my time trying to get through to someone in New Zealand to help, you can only speak to the overseas call Centre which unfortunately are no help. Please don't respond to this with your copy and paste words, I have tried to contact Europcar via there its a dead end in a overseas call centre.

I strongly do not recommend this store at all! We booked a car for pickup at 9.30pm, but their system automatically changed our booking to 10pm, then we called the customer service around 9.15pm and they said the store guy is in the car park preparing our car". Then we waited until 10pm and there was no one showing up in their office! Their customer service said their office closes at 10.30pm

This was the worst rental car experience I've ever had. I had a rental car booked with them for a 14:00 pickup, and after arriving shortly after, was told that no cars were available and it would be 2-3 hours before I could get one. Since I was flying in for a concert that evening, I didn't have time to wait. I was assured by the staff that if I came back in the morning, they would have a car available.When I came back the next morning, I was told once again that nothing was available. Only after questioning it, was I given the option of an electric vehicle. Since it was the only option, I reluctantly agreed since we had hotel reservations that night several hours away from Auckland. I was FURTHER disappointed when I got into the car and it was only charged to 25%, which wouldn't get me to my destination. We had to go out of our way and spend several hours at a charging station in order to continue our trip.Having an electric vehicle on a road trip is certainly not ideal, and it ended up costing us a lot of time that we would have preferred to spend exploring the beautiful country of New Zealand.Overall, it was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I would not recommend Europcar to anyone and will not be booking with them again.

Booked with them and when I got to the domestic department, they were closed and had to hike with my luggage and child to the international terminal. After waiting at the counter for over an hour, they claimed to not have the SUV I booked and offered a Suzuki Swift at the same rate! Now, 3 hours later, I'm finally making my way to the rental car park to load my stuff in this tiny car that is costing me the rate of an SUV.
