JUCY Car Rental and Campervan Hire Queenstown Airport

We got a rental car in Queenstown. A nice 2015 Suzuki Swift that was just what we needed and was very well priced for one week of hire. It went very well and was cheap on petrol. We were picked up at the airport by Jucy, had a smooth pickup experience and it was the same on drop off. Happy to recommend Jucy.

Charged me $3000 when it was just supposed to be a hold on my credit card. This was in case of damage to the vehicle. My credit card has its own insurance so I didn’t buy theirs, so they said they’d hold $3000 which would be refunded back once I returned the car unscathed. I did, with photos to prove it, and still nothing over a month later. There’s obviously no damage because they didn’t reach out to let me know or provide details of what work would need to be done, so instead the store is just being sketchy and holding onto my money. Impossible to get in touch with customer service. Won’t be renting with jucy again

We picked-up a JUCY Chaser at Queenstown for 3 weeks and dropped it off in Auckland. Everything was perfect and our experience with JUCY has fitted at 100% of our expectations. The car we had was 330 000 km, we drove for 5 000 km and we have nothing to say. The balance quality vs price is fair.

Rented a condo from Jucy and it was very okay. The van had enough room for 2 people and luggage and was mostly comfortable. Easy to drive and stocked with dinnerware, linens, pots, and pans. Filling the water and dumping was easy. The van we received was missing the rear table and several of the straps that hold up the window shades were broken, making them unable to be put up. The shade on the top bed had a broken strap and the shade was hanging on us some nights and was very very annoying. There were supposed to be 2 USB charging ports but one had been broken and did not work. We also rented a table and 2 camping chairs. The table was great but one chair was broken and not usable. I mentioned this when dropping it off and they just told me they would check it - no apologies or effort to make it right. Overall, okay.

DO NOT HIRE FROM JUCYDisappointing experience to say the least. We hired one of Jucy's smaller campervan's for 9 days. We had problems with our van from the second the staff took us over to it.Firstly the staff told us one of the sliding doors was 'fixed' shut which we managed to open on day 5 into our trip.Secondly when being shown the kitchen in the van the water tap was broken which wasn't a promising sign. The staff took it to be fixed while we waited 20 minutes in the lobby taking time out of our holiday.Once on our way we found the staff member had left her Vape in our car in which we received an email asking for us to take time out of our holiday once again to return it to her.We had many problems with our van: It was covered in mold on the roof, seatbelts, doors, everywhere! Most of the snap on buttons for the blinds didn't work either or were completely rusted off.Additionally our fridge did not work... no matter how long we drove to get the battery going or how high we had the settings it never got cold and it smelt HORRIBLE. We ended up buying bags of ice to keep things cold.In the kitchen they have utensils and a spare Gas bottle for when your first one runs out. Our van was missing a large spoon, no soap to clean dishes, one chux to clean which got very dirty after a couple uses, our gas bottle ran out after being on for 1 minute so we had to go buy more even though we were only cooking a couple meals on the gas.One of the worst issues happened in the middle of our holiday. The windows stopped working because of a blown fuse. This happened in the afternoon so there wasn't enough time to get back to Queenstown before the JUCY mechanic left for the day. Just our luck... The night we were stuck with open windows was the night it heavily rained. We used our own rain jackets taped to the windows to keep dry.After all these problems we returned to JUCY to get the Fuse fixed which again wasted a day of our short holiday. We told the staff all our issues but weren't offered compensation or to change vehicle.It was a horrible experience and do not recommend hiring a JUCY.

Horrible experience. The van was dirty, smelly and musty. Our bed sheets and quilt cover felt and smelt like they had not been washed in a long time. Plates, bowls and cutlery had old food and stains on them. Towels were still damp. Charger ports didn’t work. And we were also charged extra following our drop off as we had “not done certain things” which was utterly absurd.On a positive note, renting a camper van is essential to see NZ and all the best sights.If you are going to hire a camper, pay the extra money for a reputable company. Frankly embarrassing.

I'm currently writing this review from within our campervan, nearing the end of our trip when we deliver the car in Aukland. The whole experience has been more than amazing. The day that we picked up our ride, there was a problem with my drivers license, which meant that I wasn't allowed to drive that day. This had the potential to ruin our vacation from day one, but the lovely people at the Queenstown office went well out of their way to help us out with suggestions, and they even ended up driving us to one of the closest campings, so we didn't have to rent an Airbnb until the issue was resorted. Then, when we finally were allowed to hit the road after a few days, we found out that our outdoor table was broken. Thankfully we wanted to drive to Milford Sound anyway, so on our way there we took a small detour to the Jucy Queenstown office and got a replacement straight away.Overal the condition of the car was oke. No problems at all with the drivetrain, but some of the interior lights weren't working, and a couple of curtain straps were broken. But being handy with rope, this was easily resolved. Kitchen utensils weren't the best (cooking knives were blunt, and we only had a metal slotted turner which isn't great in a coated frypan) but we made due with what we had. And we felt that the car was missing some storage space, which we solved by buying these plastic kitchen hooks which we placed throughout the camper, so we could hang plastic bags on them, which worked perfectly.So all in all it has been a great experience. Definitely would recommend!

The people at the shop were really nice but unfortunately both the condition of the van (cabana) and the quality of customer service on the road was terrible. Had two major incident during our three-week trip and for both we had to call them at least 3 times to get any support. For the first instance they sent us to an incompetent mechanic and made us take a detour of 4hrs to get the battery fixed and for the second one we had to finish our trip 72hrs early due to a non-working window. Stay away from this company if you have any other options.

We rented a camper van here online and came for our reservation. Very smooth to call their number as soon as we landed from our flight, and jumped on their Transfer Truck to the rental location.So fast to check in, and a thorough intro to the van and how to drive and operate it. Great gas mileage considering we drove it up to Christchurch for the drop off.Rent from JUCY!

We got offered a ride to and from the airport, Car was amazing and people were very nice… quick shout out to Sharn (so sorry if we spelt that wrong) who was so nice and understanding she definitely means we will be back and using Jucy rental again!
