Wild Earth Lodge B&B

Absolutely loved this place. the style of the lodge was so functional, beautiful and cozy! beautiful views and Pete and Janine are fantastic hosts. We particularly appreciated their helpful local suggestions and their warm welcome.

Wild Earth Lodge is a fantastic place to stay.The hosts were lovely, and the location was great for going on hikes and was close to some amazing waterfalls, the blue pools, and Lake Hawea.

This place is really special, as are its hosts, whose relaxed warmth make you feel special as soon as you arrive! Every detail of the house has been beautifully put together and the views are spectacular. The breakfast was generous and reflected Pete and Janine's great cooking skills - the first time I've had flowering garlic shoots on my eggs, which looked so pretty and tasted delicious! As soon as we got there we were already making plans to come back with friends - I can't wait. Thank you Pete and Janine!

One of the most eccentric stays at The Barn...every corner gazed was a nostalgic trip thru my life. Peter was there to great us with a humongous smile and sincere banter with Cash at his side. The whole place was comfortable peaceful and lovable....breakfast was a feast xx

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The views from the cottage were amazing. The place was peaceful and romantic. Pete and Janine were very accomodating hosts. We also got to meet their dog. We hope to be back again soon.

This location was simply stunning, you couldn't ask for anything more peaceful and picturesque.The unit is well furnished and stocked in case the weather keeps you in. We had a rainy afternoon which worked out perfectly as it provided us with a rest day to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Even though it was summer it was still cool enough for us to enjoy the fireplace with a mountain view.The outdoor bath is an amazing way to unwind and commune with nature. If you sit still the birds will come perform for you why you soak in the view. We were treated to a rainbow the following morning which made this experience all the more magical.Pete, and his dog Cash, was a fantastic host that greeted us and help us settle in. We will definitely be back again and are eagerly planning our next trip to Makarora!

Fab location for views of the Wilkin, great hosts who've thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. Lot's of cool local finds for art and very well appointed kitchen, including spices, oils and condiments.

We had never heard of this place but drove in off the main highway on a whim and were able to book a night's accommodation right there and then. We were glad we did. The whole experience was relaxing and luxurious. We especially liked the wood burner in our room, making it cosy and warm for the whole evening. The breakfast was private and scrumptious with too many little homely details to mention (but way better than anything you would expect from a hotel chain). Treat yourself to a mental health break and stay here. And at no extra cost we had a spectacular sunset.

The perfect little cottage in the middle of nowhere!! Love everything about this amazing place. Pete is an amazing host. Totally recommended, and worth staying at least one night while you're in Wanaka, Lake Hawea area.

One of the best places we stayed on the south island in NZ. Cannot recommend Wild Earth Lodge B&B enough! Such beautiful touches, stunning views and excellent hosts, plus the location is excellent for a variety of walks and hikes too!
