Great place to visit. Make sure you have headlamp warm clothing. Water can be really cold and needs a change of clothes for after the experience. Inside the cave, the stream can be quite deep in places, so make sure you look after any young people, not a place for cameras or cell phones for pictures unless you carry a dry bag .enjoy the experience we did and have told others

Didn’t do the cave due to no togs/wetsuit, appropriate footwear and head torch, but was well worth an exterior explore with great views and fauna. Good tracks and informative signs along the way. Will come prepared next time.

Very lovely stop along your journey or let this be the journey. Lots of parking, especially for large vehicles like campervans. The trail to the cave is easy and quick, with a touch of an obstacle towards the end crossing the river to get to the cave. Luckily, I didn't mind getting wet if I had to, but I didn't. You can stop at the lookout if you're not interested in going cave, but the cave is the best part. There's also a bit of loose gravel towards the end. A couple of alternative routes have been created for some reason or another. It's amazing how this track isn't that far off the main road, but the moment I stepped into the cave, I felt completely disconnected. It was incredible just to stand there and listen to the enhanced audio of the river flowing through it and the echoes. Try to remember to read the history before taking off. Enjoy your visit. Take pictures, leave footprints!

Great place for a stop off during your travels from one paradise to another.Great parking and toilet services, just up the road from castle hill too.Great for kids and families or take yourself on a challenge and sign up for a caving tour. Totally unreal vibes here it's easy to imagine the whole place underwater at some stage...

You can't get to the lower cave (the one on the right from the parking lot) without crossing ~30cm of water (weather dependant) you are able to see the upper cave (on left) and go in about 4 meters before climbing down a small waterfall to proceed (caving gear and wetsuit recommend) If you want to traverse the cave the sign recommend going from lower cave to upper cave.

Worth a stop. Short 20-30 min walk on well maintained tracks around the reserve and to view both ends of the cave. There is also a well established walk through the cave with a track involving metal ladders and submersion in the water from waist to chest height, depending on the recent rainfall status. Pretty cool spot. Would recommend visiting both cave entrances (the second requires following the track for the cave hike).

Cave Stream is only about a five-minute drive from Castle Hill, and it is well worth the bit of time it takes to visit. For 5 minutes, you can walk to an overlook of Cave Stream’s canyon, the course of the stream before it began flowing into, under, and out of the hill. A 30-minute stroll gives you a closer view of where the stream enters and exits the hill, as well as a view of the white cliffs up the canyon and distant mountains. If you have more time, don’t mind dark places or getting wet, you can follow the path of the stream underground. This last part should only be attempted when the water level is low, you have a fearless companion, and you have headlamps and appropriate footwear. Be aware that you may be wading in waist-deep water. We took the 30-minute option, and it was lovely. We would have gone down the steep path to where the stream enters the cave, just to see that, but it would have required getting our shoes wet so we opted out.

Super awesome and fun activity. Only climbing out of the cave is a bit sketchy. For my gf who is 1m68 the water came to waist level. I did it with swimming pants, a rash suit and sandals which was perfectly possible. Although I would recommend some form of water shoes because the rocks are really uneven. The cold didn't really bother us inside the cave. An unforgettable experience

Check the water levels or call for the information before entering! We were lucky enough to do this and it was well worth it. Bring a head torch and be prepared to swim! You can do it without swimming but it's way more fun to swim. We brought our head torches (neccesity) and our in day pack we put a bin liner to waterproof it.

Absolutely must do. Bring head lamps and water shoes. It's a big loop, you actually walk underneath the carpark area. When you park, take the path to the right, that way you're walking upstream. Walking down stream here might be a bit dangerous in parts! You do need to use your hands at some parts and the water got up to my belly button (I am 5'10).From entry to exit
