Sometimes our busy lives gets in the way of the important things like writing a review about the best experience you had ! Sorry Joan and Terry . We stumbled upon Pigeons Rest by chance although I think it was meant to be .We needed long term parking while building a house in Coopers Beach . As always things takes longer than expected and and we end up staying for a few months . The place isand peaceful and calm and thank you Joan for all the fruit and veggies!We arrived as strangers but left as friends !

Terry and Joan were the nicest hosts - stopped by Okaihau on the twin coast and needed a last minute place to camp. Whilst I was only there for the night, they were very accommodating. Very nice and peaceful property. Would 100% reccommend

What a lovely peacfull location and ideally location to the Cycle Trail. Hospitality excels. We were so warmly greeted. Terry even offered to pick us up at the end of our cycle at very reasonable cost. We were reluctant to leave. Recommend this stop over to all. Cynthia & Graeme

Hosts Joan and Terry couldn’t have been more helpful at Pidgeons rest pop at Okaihau .We would highly recommend a stay there.We enjoyed the peaceful location.Chris and Brett from Warkworth.

Pigeons Rest Accommodation
Joan and Terry are very friendly and helpful. Pigeons Rest is at the high point of the Twin Coast Cycle Trail, Pou Herenga Tai, so this is a great place to base yourself to do the trail downhill in both directions from here. Joan and Terry offer a shuttle service to bring you back to Pigeons Rest when you have finished cycling for the day.

Wonderful place to stay! Terry and Joan are so welcoming and have made their accommodation into a comfortable, warm, lovely place to stay! I spent 8 nights in this idyllic location and would definitely return!

I recently spent a week at PIGEON’s REST while working away from home in the Kaikohe/ Okaihau area.The pet friendly Caravan is cosier than I could ever have imagined, the “ walk around” bed divine and it has all the comforts that one would expect in a much larger space.I was working on 2 jobs during my stay so constantly using 2 laptops and my iPhone and had absolutely no problems at all with WiFi capability.Terry and Joan the perfect hosts …… nothing too much trouble and I confess to coming away with an armful of cuttings from Joan’s amazing garden.I will definitely be back…Sali Marinkovich
