I have NEVER been as lost for words... stopped for something to eat at Cloverleaf cafe in Piopio. I accidentally dropped a lasagne on the dirty matting floor (farmer area, so expected). He takes it off me, goes and puts it in the deep fryer. I'm so gobsmacked I forget my order, but ordered a coffee. Kitchenhand/cook takes it out of the fryer, drains it and puts it back in the cabinet. I take my coffee, replacement lasagne and out to the car. Where lo and behold, there's an insect on it. Is this another case of dropped food with a passenger? I take it back in, demand a refund, tell him after seeing what was done with the one I dropped. He then tells me they always do that and why should he give me a refund? And as I said, you cannot do filthy things like that - and as you are going to sell what I dropped, who are you to speak of charging me?? I got my money back, but I will never, ever go back. And seriously, why would anyone? This needs minus stars.

While traveling to New Plymouth we stopped at this place to have some snacks. I tried fish and chips. The chips were good but the size of the fish was small in comparison to other places and the taste was average too. Also ordered strawberry milkshake which was okay. Will recommend if you are hungry and had to stop nearby Poi Poi.

Ordered 2x sausages 1x fish and 1 scoop of chips owner gave me all but the 2nd sausage this isnt 1st time my order got stuffed up due to not listening properly or not cooking it so now i feel i should give it a thumbs down review

Amazing vege burgers!! Pretty rare to see vegetarian food this good outside a major city. Super lovely girl at the counter with a dedication to sanitising her hands after each transaction. Very much appreciated. Great price too!

Very nice sandwiches, fresh and tasty. Friendly owner made a good chai latte and I would expect the coffee to be good too. Interesting cake selection. Also has a typical full menu and a hot cabinet. Great for truckers passing through, easy parking on street

Low quality roadside cafe. Average fair of food selection. Cakes slices etc did not look fresh. Chips from warmer, cold, they much of been there for awhile.Inside seating area also used for stock storage. Shabby unkempt toilet.

little old school shop, friendly people.The burgers are fantastic! just tidy yummy burgers! and the cheese burgers have LOADS of cheese! just how a cheese burger should be. i will always stop in here every time i come to piopio!

We found it on the side of the road. Very popular, people were in and out the whole hour we had stopped over. Its expensive but im not suprised being a small store. The service was really chill and relaxed, outdoor seating, beautiful weather. We even got free tomato sauce which i felt was a bonus. Burgers are fresh, fried muscles were not nice at all. I added my fish and scallop to my burger. Hit the spot. The guy serving us 10/10 for service.
