A nice place to have a drink, Sue the publican keeps the place very clean and tidy with a spacious outdoor area and garden setting for those who enjoy an outdoor scene when the weather's nice, Dave the head chef does the best burger and chips in the peninsula and his meals are delicious as well...when it's cold the fireplace is roaring and you can shoot some pool and enjoy the jukebox..

This place is a CLASSIC institution of getting on your bike having a ride around the hills and having a responsible beer! Always fun to look at people's bikes and fancy cars. They in turn look at yours. Nice people have a brew here and its super friendly. I dont come here as much as I used to but, it's great. I reccomend this place for some old school kiwis pub experience. No posers allowed. Keep up the good stuff!!!

Stopped in for brunch while on a short travel. Menu is basic but would meet the needs of most while passing through. Ordered two big breakfasts and were very satisfied with our meals. Very affordable and lovely service. Would stop in again.

An absolutely brilliant experience, so laid back. It was Easter Saturday when I went. Very quiet. A lot of love has gone into the place particularly outside. Has potential to make it more of a cafe atmosphere inside, too, with cafe at the front and pub at the back.It's a good fitting name to reflect that in the past a lot of wheat was grown in the area. This area is going to really boom and become a desirable place to live and raise children.

Stopped here for lunch after a drive around the bays. A really pleasant place to stop for lunch. The meals were great value and the staff were friendly. A real hidden gem.
