Wainuiomata Lookout
The lookout at the top of the Wainuiomata Hill is well worth stopping at. Especially on a typical sunny Wellington day. Views across the harbour take in Matiu/Somes Island, the central city in the distance and even the Kaikoura mountains in the far distance. The views also take in Seaview/Petone and Lower Hutt as well as Mt Kaukau in the distance. The views of the city and harbour at night are also worth checking out. Great place to watch any fireworks displays too.

what an amazing placestunning viewsthis place looks more beautiful than i imagined!Big part of the city is clearly visible from this point.As everyone says, Windy Wellington, even this lookout spot is super windy. you gotta be extreme careful with your mobile phones/camera while shooting.there’s parking for 3-4 vehicles i believe.you can spend 15-30minutes, nothing else to do

Awesome view, almost 360 degrees. There is a back trek and running lane. Parking is for around 10 cars. Be prepared for the wind and enjoy the view.
