Stay here last night.Great locating next to bars and shops.Staff are polite and friendlyRooms are comfy and clean. The only thing I feel they should add is a dishcloth so you can refuse plates etc and a toaster

Room was very conjusted and small, no sink or hand basin, only in shower. Air-conditioned just right on top of your head. No towel hanger. Sorry not recommended.

Great stay and close to airport. Staff were polite, easy check in. Room was modern and very clean. Bed was soft and comfortable. Pillows and linen were top notch and spotless. Location was handy to a nearby mall with supermarket and kmart and several nearby restaurants all within walking distance. All i would say is more signage out the front although google helped us find it easy enough. Highly recommmend and will be staying there again in the near future.

I had the toughest time finding this hotel at night because there were no signs that can be seen from the main street and the general area was poorly lit. If you arrive at night, pull into the lot with Big Mart Supermarket and head towards the container-like building adjacent to there.I would say Kolmar Inn was one of the worst hotels that I've stayed in while visiting New Zealand. The room was clean but was claustrophobically small, similar to what you'd find on a college campus. The heater did not function correctly. Even though the heater was set at 30° C, it was only blowing warm air that was immediately nullified by the cold air coming through the windows. The amenities were lacking and they used one dedicated key card with hard written number on it for each room. The neighborhood was sketchy and there were security guards stationed at the front at most of the businesses nearby. I made sure to take everything out of my car because there were broken glass all over the parking lot. The only reason to stay here is for its proximity to the Auckland airport and that's it. Otherwise, I'd steer far away from this place as possible.

A really lovely place, the room was compact, but I had everything I needed for the 1 night stay.Handy to the shops, mall & supermarket.Lovely staff and affordable.Note that the shower entrance is very narrow (see my photo with my laptop bag showing the width). And, there isn't a full-length mirror.

***TERRIBLE***Booked a room for the 2nd March through wotif. Booked as “pay on arrival” and received a confirmation from the Kolmar Inn.My international flight was delayed, however not significantly that I couldn’t make it by the check in times of 2pm-8pm.Whilst I was mid flight, the manager Rita Kumar, allegedly tried to call me RE: arrival time. Upon my arrival at the inn just shy of 8pm, the receptionist informed me my room was cancelled and given away due to my no response to their call. Which I had no missed call for.Upon checking me junk emails, I observed an email at 7pm, advising they tried to charge my card at 2pm (regardless of the agreement being “pay on ARRIVAL”) and due to nil response they cancelled my room, leaving me stranded in a foreign country.Even though I had till 8pm to check in, they not only dishonoured the pay on arrival agreement, but also gave away my room an hour early to my available check in time. After an hour of demanding to speak to the manager, I was immediately abused by her over the phone, before she hung up.This Inn will clearly disregard all rules attached to agreements, to make more money. Being kicked out onto the streets at 9:30pm, I had to try find an available hotel, pay an additional $30 on top of the $50 it cost me to get to the Inn, to find somewhere to stay. Absolutely disgusting service.

For the location it's in, it's a little gem, a diamond in the rough. Modern decor, very clean, smells clean, looks clean. Cleaning services are daily, if you opt to leave your notice on the door.I opted for single bed in studio size, which had sky tv in room (good size tv, no lagging or interruption) single bed (warm fresh linen) bathroom is modern, shower had two options, hand held or fixed. Big ceramic basin and mirror. Kitchenette had the basic things you need to warm meals, and make tea/coffee. Mini fridge with milk. There was a air con which I used to warm the room as it got a bit chilli due to weather. Nice thick drapery, with curtain net drapes for extra privacy if you opted to open the drapes. Your car is secure, big car park, a lot going on as it's in the middle of papatoetoe, but they have 24 hour security, and I only need to look out the window to see my car.Quiet rooms, looked like a lot of workers, and business people stay here for a stop over, it's cheap and I didn't need a deposit, It was easy to book, and I ended up extending my stay by booking again online at 2am. No issues, it's a very lovely atmosphere. I was hoping to find somewhere where there was no 'emergency housing tennants' and this was perfect. Lovely environment, helpful staff, will definitely book here again if I need another stop over. Just across the road is the Friday night markets as well, bit of a bonus.Enjoyed my stay immensely. Well done to the staff! Thanks for your lovely smiles.
