Robert Findlay Wildlife Reserve
A blissful experience. So calming. And feeling grateful to have seen the amazing kuaka/godwits, both in flight and on land, as well as other beautiful birds like spoonbills. Definitely want to come back here more regularly.

Definitely check the tide before you visit. Best time to go is 2hrs either side of high tide. Or you won't see any birds. A lovely and quiet spot to reflect and see some rare birds. Sometimes there's locals with a birding scope. If they're nice they let you have a peek to see the birds better.

Robert Findlay Wildlife Reserve
Great Bird watching site. Usually see a photographers frequent this spot. There is plenty of parking around the area and a toilet as well. Both short and long walks can be found at the reserve which lead to the lookout / obversation sheds, the tracks are flat and easy. Great place to bring the kids to learn about wildlife.

Lots of birds around! The best time to visit is 2hours each side of high tide as it pushes the waders across the shell banks to where they can be seen. Make sure you bring binoculars as they will still be quite far away.

Amazing birds, amazing three hides. Good secure carpark. 2500 odd Godwits, 1500 knots, 2000 Stilt, 3000 SIPO. Plus two rarities; Lesser Sandplover and Black fronted tern.However, a composting toilet in the carpark would be nice.

We love visiting here. We saw the last of the godwits before they make their long flight to Alaska, as well as thousands if other birds. Visited the shore birds centre for the first time. Highly recommended, extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff.
