I am so glad to see this Countdown finally getting renovated like the other stores around. For a long time i felt this store looked a little neglected and old.Currently (October 2018) the store is under renovation so is a bit of a mish mash but i can see when it is done it will be sooo much nicer!With this store being at the mall, it is pretty much near impossible to get a park here during the malls opening hours so your best bet is to go after mall hours or on late nights at the mall.Have always found that the staff that work at this store are very friendly and will help if you ask.There is also a lotto counter at this store. As well as the Countdown wine store just across from the actual Countdown. Here you can buy wines and cider, unfortunately not beer from what i have seen.

Poorly stocked shelves. Have some great deals, must read the sales tags carefully to ensure the product your buying is on sale and the date matches the date your in store and not later. Meat is the main thing that runs out. They haven't catered for the 1000s of new builds being built in and around New Lynn, which is shy their shelves are empty.

An Indian aunt at the checkout counter is racist. Every time she sees a white person, she greets and chats with all smiles. When she meets an Asian face, she keeps a straight face, doesn't say hello, doesn't say hello, and often pretends not to hear me when I say thank you.

A very busy store. Clean, and easy to find the items you require as you walk around the store. The staff were pleasant to deal with and knew what they were doing. The self checkout was very busy, and easy to use too.

Well presented store. Proximity to public transport and library. Lot of parking space available. Liquor store is located outside of the store. There is no pharmacy here. Bakery items are arranged in a corner of the store. Less staff in the check outs most of the time.

It seems rare these days to receive excellent service under one roof but on a number of different occasions, today being yet another, I felt the need to convey my gratitude in receiving what I term as excellent service at Countdown in Lynmall, New Lynn. Plus write an honest review. From the outset there was uninterrupted focus on myself and what I needed, then swift action and followed through right up to conclusion with a smile. I expect this kind of service from retail stores and more often are disappointed. Yet at a supermarket great service can be found at Countdown New Lynn. I’m not sure what their training is like but the staff in particular the information section are very efficient, quick and pleasant. Of course, that’s the best reason to return over and over again.

It's a convenient place to do your shopping. Unfortunately there were a few items that were out of stock, through no fault of the store. Clean premises, spacious aisles & friendly atmosphere. Very helpful team member/staff in the produce section just added value to the experience.

They always have everything we need in stock! Parking could be better tho. It's very jammed and small parking places for bigger cars!
