Daniel Smith Builders

Daniel (Dan) of Daniel Smith Builders built our architecturally designed home in Mapua commencing 2021, completing mid June 2022. The home was designed by our youngest son with close creative work added by Vicki. After talking with several builders and building companies in the Tasman region, we settled on Dan to build our house. We did not know any local builders as we were not from the Nelson/Tasman area.Dan was very easy to deal with, and was fastidious when dealing with our build. Vicki and I were consulted every step along the way, even when locked down in Auckland for nearly FIVE months during the build. It was clear to us that Daniel has a passion for building.When we were able to be around the building site during the build, it was obvious that Dan and his apprentice(s) ran a very clean and tight build. Every night when having a look at the build, the site was very clean and tidy making it very easy for us to walk through our future home.The other thing Vicki and I noticed was the very professional subcontractors Dan had employed on our build. All were excellent to deal with, and all did an excellent job in their relevant field of expertise. It became clear that Dan only used reputable subcontractors on site that were chosen by him alone, and had built up a solid reputation with Dan.Our build was managed well and regular meetings were held onsite where and when possible to follow the construction progress, and suggest or discuss any changes where necessary.There is only one builder Vicki and I would contact if, or when, we have another large project, or new Nelson/Tasman build, at any time in the future.Thanks for a great job Dan. We love our new home. We love it so much that we struggle to go out anywhere and leave it. This is our “castle” where we can relax and enjoy life.Chris & Vicki Innes
