The Methven Information and Heritage Centre is a first point of call for visitors to the area wanting to find out more about the region as well as what’s on and what to do.The friendly staff were helpful and informative. Local art is displayed thoughout the centre adding to the cultural experience. The Hall of Memories is a free of charge walk down memory lane of Methven’s contribution to World Wars 1 & 2.A main feature for tourists is theNZ Agricultural Encounter. A ticket only look at the rural community that makes up Methven and the wider mid Canterbury region. Points of interest include the inner workings of a cows digestive system and how they produce milk, resources of the region and the landscape. A full scale climb aboard Header gives you a real feel for farming life.The facility also boasts full conference facilities catering to corporate and interest groups, trade shows and productions and includes a Function and Boardroom with a fully equipped kitchen.The Methven Heritage Centre definitely delivered more than we were initially expecting and is well worth a visit.

Good local information from the lady at the counter. She told us where to download more. However it was a bit rushed and she made me feel to stop asking questions, rather then being enthusiastic about our visit of the region.

The staff were so helpful getting on the seat for LOTR and sunset horse ride! They are fast and efficient! God bless!

The lady there was extremely helpful when we enquired about walks and we ended up going on the Enchanted walk which we really enjoyed and going to several other walks that she suggested.Lovely small town with a nice vibe.

We had the most helpful person the days our group were there. We needed assistance with accommodation in Methven and on-going. We were helped by a wonderful lady, Wendy ! She was patient, gave us detailed information on where we were travelling too, and rang ahead for us. I think we bombarded her with questions for 1/2 day. 5 Star service Wendy.
