Drove to the viewpoint around 5pm on after the rainy day. Our drive ended with a double rainbows over the lake.The view was magical!

Incredible views availiable basically from the carpark. You can walk further along to see the lake closer up also though! New Zealand certainty has a well deserved reputation as one of the most beautiful counties.

Awesome viewpoint of the lake and mountains including mt cook. A great place to stop and enjoy the amazing scenery. a must do on the way to or from mt cook national park!

Definitely must stop by for the view. You can also have your lunch at one of the tables available.I don’t recommend using the toilet available if you don’t really have to though… it’s basically just one giant hole which already attracted so many mosquitoes and the smell.. thank goodness for masks I say

Lake Pukaki Viewpoint (Mount Cook Road)
Nice views of the GORGEOUS blue lake and Mt. Cook. It is worth the extra 10 km drive off the highway to get the good views. Much better than the viewpoint from the southern tip of the lake off the highway. Nice parking area and pit toilets. There is a short dirt path that you can take to walk down to the shore of the lake, although we did not have time to do this.

Lake Pukaki Viewpoint (Mount Cook Road)
Incredible view of Mt Cook and one of the best lake swimming spots in the country! Easy access down to a long gravely beach via a short winding path from the lookout point. The water is a beautiful clear blue color, lake temperature is a bit cool but quite swimmable in the warmer months.Parking lot is somewhat small but people come and go fairly quickly so never had a problem getting a parking space.

100% take the walk down to the beach. Crystal clear water, smooth stones and amazing views. Out of the dozens at the viewpoint none except us went down, missing the best of Pukaki

The tourist spot to take photos of Lake Pukaki and Mt Cook. Spacious carpark with long drop toilet.180degree views of the lake and Mt Cook to take in with a walking trail down to the water if you want to experience it.

The lake had a vibrant turquoise color that was beautiful. There were a few lupines growing along the road but it was a bit early to see them in full bloom. Late nov - early dec is best.
