Really modern, friendly and lot of space to chill. The kids area is amazing!For the backpackers: many sockets and water available infront of the library. You can also access the poll if you want to take a shower but you have the pay the access fee.

Like all libraries in Christchurch, this is a great facility. They have a fully equipped maker space and the Learning Centre PCs are kitted out for esports, including gaming peripherals sponsored by Sport Canterbury.

The Library at Te Hapua: Halswell Centre
This library is quite frankly a joke. They claim to have free wifi yet I am given a notification EVERY 5 MINUTES to reconnect. That combined with all the noise makes this a thoroughly unpleasant place to relax.I find it unacceptable that this library is not open for full hours on the weekends. What purpose does it serve other than less visitors? The library should be open for the full time and the fact that this isn't the case is disgraceful.

The Library at Te Hapua: Halswell Centre
This is a very good community library, seminar rooms and cafeteria. The library carries a large range of books and the cafeteria makes a good cup of coffee or tea.It is a modern facility and the large seminar rooms have kitchen facilities. Located on the main road through Halswall it is easy to find and has good car parking. I found it particularly helpful for meeting people for a business meeting. Nonetheless a good public library service.

Great library layout however, gone are the days of a quiet library. The noise ruins the entire experience.It's a shame because other than that it's perfect - noisy.

Library staff are friendly and always glad to help. They have a very good selection of children's books. They also have a good selection of community activities, including a swimming pool, a playground, a nice selection of board games and a foozball table.
