I nearly fell out of my van when i was charged $25 to dump a small beer fridge today. No wonder people dump on the roadside. If WCC are going to extort people in this manner, i certainly will never dump another fridge at the tip, next one will be roadside, i refuse to be extorted like this . Shame on you WCC., you are creating road dumpers from sheer greed.

This place changed my life! Need to get rid of goods and peruse other items? This place is for you! They accepted all my goods, however I had to pay for the privilege! Staff were just the best also, great sense of humour

Pricing suits having a car load of waste, but I had a single piece that cost me $20 to dispose of. Pricing needs review.

Wellington City Council operated landfill at the end of Happy Valley Rd., in a rather stunning setting for a dump, but smelly none the less.There's a tip shop there where you can get some nice bargains, and they usually take your old stuff off you quite happily. They also sell compost, potting mix and the like.Would be good if they had a collection bin for household batteries, light bulbs etc. at the tip shop rather than having to go up to (and pay for) the landfill. Their pricing for a car load of household waste (roughly $10) or green waste ($5) is reasonable though.Not sure why previous reviewers thought it's appropriate to complain about having to pay more for recycling of fridges etc. and even suggest to 'dump on the roadside next time'. Typical sense of entitlement, have you considered that taking an old fridge apart and the disposal of the coolant and e-waste costs time and money?

Green Waste is incredibly cheap, I have packed my suv FULL and at most it has cost me $11.00. Can be a bit of a wait during weekends but well worth it given the price

Fantastic place tho a bit of a dump..

Terrible, was charged $122 for a trailor of green waste, and three standard size rubbish bags, with staff member at weigh/pay station saying it was considered to be and charged as a mix load, as green waste must be 100% green. No wonder people are dumping their rubbish around our communities!

A good landfill. Lot cheaper than Hutt. Can be busy at weekends
