Absolutely gorgeous food! No wonder why is called “Gastronomics”! Very reasonable price, clean and tidy environment, also lovely waitstaff with lovely service. Unfortunately was too full to have dessert, but will definitely try next time. The ‘5 Hour Braised Lamb Shank’ is so tender with wonderful taste, even my mum who doesn’t like lambs loved this dish! The ‘Prime Silver Fern Farm Beef Eye Fillet, Home Smoked’ has this strong taste of smoked beef, was so unforgettable. Also the ‘Brazilian Lobster’, the meat was very chewy and the taste of fresh seafood was also amazing. Definitely will return next time.

Went for Lunch.4 People, and 1 service dog.Lunch at our table consisted of either Oysters or Prime Rib.All meals were absolutely beautiful, very tasty, and well presented.My Oysters were very fresh.Drinks were also nice, with very clean glasses, that had the Beer “Laddering” as it was consumed in the glass.Our Parents had Gin, which they were impressed with, and upon enquiring, we found out, that it was the “award winning “ coromandel gin.The décor within the restaurant is very nice, and interesting, and went visiting the bathroom, we found very clean, nicely designed, and roomy.The menu, has wide variety, as the does the drinks menu.Staff were very friendly.Can’t say our Lunch Group, found anything that we disliked at all.Lunching here was a enjoyable pleasant experience.

Was contemplating whether to eat here with my family during our Thames trip, but man this place was so worth it. The food was really outstanding and the service was prompt and efficient for a fine dining restaurant. Highly recommend.

To discover such a culinary delight in the sleepy little town of Thames was just a delicious surprise.I cannot recommend more to anyone who should happen to visit Thames to include a meal at Gastronomics as a 'must do' experience.My sincerest compliments to Kishan & Radha Raikwar & staff..... Magnifique.!To be continued..... for I must return

The food was amazing!! Wife had the scallops I had the venison eye fillet. It was a symphony in my mouth. Compliments to the chef! Nice atmos and very attentive and polite waiting staff. Well done Gastro Team!

Overall, lovely people. That said, this restaurant has an identity crisis. The name suggested a deconstructed, rather complex menu, in terms of taste. It's not. Its basic stuff, and they don't do it very well.For the price tag, it needs to be way better.My husbands curry was better than our food. The salmon was badly cooked.I think they could stick to a particular cuisine and maybe perfect it.The decor is as confused.But, the service and friendliness of staff was great.Hopefully, they find their feet, change the decor, and streamline their menu to perfect their craft and, probably, rename the restaurant as its really pretentious of what is essentially, very basic food for high prices. We felt a tad cheated with the name, cost, and how average - bad the food was.We have family here in NZ but travelled from Australia.Thanks
