Mt Hutt Bike Park

Swamp donkey track is ~7km and good for families, great scenery on some of the other tracks. Tracks were in great condition and look well looked after. Keep up the great work Bike Methven!

Nice development so far with tracks linking fairly well. Reservoir>Backdoor was the stand out.

I've only been here once but the tracks seem well designed. Recent gravel drop to make the trails last better has made them a bit loose, but should pack down eventually. Lots of beamed downhill. Some sections are a bit overgrown and hard to see the trail, I did the xc loop as well which seemed nice and wide, until I got to the return trail back to the carpark, which was oddly very overgrown in some sections. Great views from the tops of the trails.

Fun place for a ride. Parking lot is huge and there’s a bike wash station and various tools. Front Door is a lovely up-track to various styles of trails.

Wrightys is a legendary smooth downhill. Treeverse climb to earn it. Backdoor great value adventure downhill as well even on a damp day.

Unfortunately main climbing track was closed for upgrade. Still got to the top on alternative route. Hood level 3 down hill.

Would recommend going to ride 'Medowmaker'. Best jump track there, pretty flowy with a few decent trickable jumps.

Mt Hutt bike park is seriously fun. A big range of trails from expert to first timers. A good mix of flow and jump trails to more technical. Good climbing trails so you don't have to shuttle, yet keep an eye out on the Bike Methven Facebook page as they normally organize a few shuttle days throughout summer, alongside Gravity shuttles who you can hire if you have a group of people keen to shuttle. Have a good look at the trail maps around the park or trail forks app on where to go. This bike park just keeps going from strength to strength each year, a huge asset to the local town of Methven! Riding is available all year round but after a serious rain give it a few days.
