The lakeside facing apartments have a good view. Good amenities inside, clean rooms and well located.

Came for a one night stay to check out Tekapo and we were very impressed!! Rooms are super clean and cozy, nice big bath tub, underfloor heating in the bathroom, double sided gas fire, and the view was amazing. The owners are super friendly and welcoming. We are all ready planning our next trip back.

Definitely the best accommodation we have stayed in our whole South island trip. Before seeing the property, we were originally in a standard suite and needed to change our dates which Ivan accommodated straight away but only had a superior suite left on the day we needed. For a very small fee we went into the superior suite and had the most amazing apartment with absolutely stunning views of the lake. Ivan is a very accommodating host and made us feel right at home with everything we need and need to know. Highly highly recommend. Go the superior suite. You will definitely not be disappointed. We arrived post 8pm (~9:45pm) after informing the host on agoda about the same. Got yelled by the manager there, saying the reception is closed & our name is mentioned outside the room.. we can go there directly (which was a bit hard to find in the dark), with some swear words as well. Not a type of welcome we were expecting. This incident ruined our evening.I liked the luxury suite they have, but for 2nd night we had our reservation for the one bedroom suite at the same price. It wasn't even half as good as the previous one. They promised to upgrade us to the luxury suite with some extra charge before but later said that it's not possible as it's occupied.

A great base for our stay. An easy walk to town. The accomodation is very well thought out, and top quality furnishings and linen etc. We would stay again.

Would not recommend. This was the lowest point of our otherwise wonderful holiday in NZ. We were welcomed by a very rude and grumpy old man who practically yelled at us for arriving after 8pm - Not an experience you want to have after a long day of travelling. Rooms are average, the only good thing is the views but you can get that at any of the other hotels in Tekapo- infact some of the other hotels have far better views.If you want to get unnecessarily yelled at by an old man i would recommend you pay a visit to your grandfathers, instead of travelling halfway across the world to stay at Mackenzie.

Everything was excellent! The comfort of home can be found at The Mackenzie Suites. The Superior One-bedroom apartment comes with a connected garage on the lower level, so you have secured parking for your car. The apartment is located near the village centre where there are F&B outlets, gift shops and a supermarket.

Very good views, modern amenities and really could not fault anything. I think rethinking movable furniture can add some space in the room though. The Furniture was flaky and heavy.
