Great wee spot very relaxed atmosphere and really friendly people. Sooo very comfortable beds too. Has everything you need in a hostel/backpackers. Definitely will stay again

Can only rate the restaurant: this was so so. Staff and service were great. Such an authentic place also with that sweet garden! But the food (and maybe its just more a bar) was only average. We asked for a standard beef burger and this was tooo load (root beet, fried egg, onion, ham, ananas??, cheese, bread and patty only defrosted)Alc-free lemon beer was due may/22

After watching a game of rugby on Saturday , we decided to stop in for a drink and ended up staying for dinner, and I’m so glad we did . The food was so delicious and staff were amazing. I had the fish burger and OMG it was the best burger I have had in a long time . So if you are ever over in Golden Bay stop off here and grab a drink and try some delicious food . Thanks the river inn for a great few hours . We will be back .

Spacious grassy field, no marked spaces, just camp where you wantFor 16$ pp you're allowed to use all facilities including kitchen & showerHotel itself is a bit older & the showers aren't too modernStaff absolutely lovelyNice bar attached to the Hotel

These people catered for a private family function and did a fabulous job. Made favorites of the family including absolutely delicious Fish Bites. Staff were lovely to interact with. If I am back in the Bay anytime, I will be going there for a meal

Come from Marlborough seen the db draught sign so had to call in awesome pub to sit at out of the weather, with friendly staff cold beer and mean feeds

I was travelling alone through Golden Bay and I stopped at the River Inn for a pint. It felt like a bold move but I was soon chatting to the locals and the lovely lady running the bar. I needed accommodation for the following night and I was looked after very well considering they had a private function on. I felt very comfortable and safe! Neat old kiwi pub I highly recommend you stop in! :)
