RaD Car Hire Queenstown

Pleased with our care hire from RaD Queenstown. An older car but very tidy and reliable, and an excellent price. I phoned to clarify a few points before booking. The guy I dealt with was so helpful, in fact throughout our hire. Pick up and drop off (airport transfer) were easy as. Very happy with the experience.

I strongly advise against booking a rental car with RAD Queenstown. The prices listed on the website are not accurate, and their customer service is very poor. I couldn't find information on their cancellation policy, emailed and followed up by phone a week later after receiving no reply. I booked a vehicle at $85 per day and several days later received an email saying that my booking had been declined and I would need to book a different car at $115 a day. I phoned and noted that two weeks on from my booking (and days after it had been declined) the website still listed a car at $85 per day. The person I spoke to advised me that he didn't have time to update the website and that my only option was to book a car at $115 a day. I asked to speak to a manager, he advised that he would get the owner to call me but a week later I hadn't heard anything so I called back and was told they would not adjust the price and that they have sought legal advice that allows them to list cars at a price they may not be able to fulfill because it is just a booking request. I advised that I will be lodging a complaint with the Commerce Commission.

The Subaru xv was amazing to zip around in. Loved being able to put Google maps on the screen and play music from Spotify!

Great friendly crew who are very thorough and helpful. The car was in great condition and I have not had any issues or problems after renting several times. The airport pickup was easy and the pickup van was there in under 10 minutes after making the call. Totally recommend.

Great experience and everything went smoothly. Pickup instructions easy to follow and car good. We have always had a good experience with RAD, rented maybe 4x now and never a problem

Chris and the team at RaD Car Hire are fantastic! Easy pick up and drop off process. The Kia we hired was fantastic, easy to drive and clean on pick up. Friendly team are helpful with suggestions on things around town. Would recommend and use again when I return to Queenstown.

This company are honest and reliable in their dealings, and I think they could be the cheapest in Queenstown. The late model Subaru XV we hired was clean, tidy and very comfortable. The team were friendly and professional to deal with. Highly recommend RaD as a non-rip-off car rental company. They also gave us a ride back to the airport for a minimal fee.

Always a great experience here. Great comms & really appreciated the digital contract/terms etc (24hrs before pickup) so there were no delays with pickup. Staff are always super friendly and obliging. Keep up the awesome work team!
