Peppers Christchurch Clearwater Resort

Booked here to stay for a wedding. What a mistake. The accommodation does not have wheel chair access and does not even have hand rails on the 2 sets of stairs on the ground floor units.We arrived mid afternoon on probably the hottest day in Christchurch with the outside temperature in the 30s and the room air-conditioning had not been turned on so the inside temperature was even higher.This place is not elderly friendly and very much mobility impaired unfriendly. Our stay was not pleasant at all and I am pretty sure we will not be returning any time soon.John

We reserved two rooms with a lake view, but unfortunately, both were worn out and in need of renovation. The room had a strong smell of smoke, and the sofa fabric was visibly worn and emitting an unpleasant odor. Overall, the rooms appeared tired and did not match the photos on the website and Google, which felt misleading and unethical. Consequently, we decided to leave immediately since the rooms were not worth the $300 per night price tag.

- Room is clean and extremely spacious with well equipped kitchenette and toilet.- Comfortable and king size bed- Great view in the day time overlooking the garden and pond.- Excellent service by reception. Solved kitchen sink plumbing and wifi issue within 30mins at 9pm.- 20mins from the city center and 10mins from the airport by car.We love spending time in the room. Wish we could stay a few more days. Easily one of the best accommodations we stayed in South Island. Will recommend to anyone coming to Christchurch.

Absolutely disgusting!, the room was filthy, run down, tired and certainly not worth the $ 330 a night fee we were charged. The photographs used on line certainly dont match the dismal small room, we were allocated. The room was dusty, unclean and cigarettes butts and run down ' outside area was unappealing and nowhere like that was advertised lake view ! We asked to moved or for some reparation of our room but was rudely told that was impossible and the only solution was someone coming from the kitchen to collect the cigarette buts

Beautiful scenery and resort. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The rooms are getting a bit dated, but the bathrooms have been redone. Bed and pillows were comfortable, and the room had a stunning view over the water. Some rooms are far from reception, so if you don't have a car, you are dependent on staff being available to take you and pick you up with a golf cart.

This was such a fancy room for a great price! We only stayed one night but wish we could stay longer. Room was ~140 per night and the sunset was beautiful off the porch.

We have been a great fan of peppers group of resorts as we have been on melbourne and cairns too. But the Christchurch was a huge dissapointment for the price we paid. We had really better beautiful stay than this in mew zealand. The service was more of ridiculous. The rooms too old and one of the rooms we got was not the one we booked. They upgraded it but to a way more old looking room. Most of the eminities did not work at all and one of them was wifi. It never worked.For every little thing we had to drive to reception and get things sorted. Amd the worst was we had stay for 2 days but our room card was activated jus for a day. We had to go again to reactivate aftet which they din bother to activate till the exact time 12pm. Half the time we were just driving to/fro. And room servicing was done without our permission considering we have left all our private things on loose.(guess the room was registered for a day instead of 2 and they came in to clean)Its a huge property but on arrival no one bother to show where room was took us 30min to figure it out of this 2nd room we booked was not what we booked for. And there goes another 40minutes of our time.Worst experience in the whole new zealand trip. We wouldnt recomment it.

What amazed us even more was that, on two occasions, we were able to have breakfast delivered to our room at no extra charge. Unlike other hotels, there was no additional fee for room service breakfast at Peppers Clearwater, allowing us to savor the delicious breakfast options without any added expenses.Impressed by our experience, we decided to invite our family to join us for dinner at the hotel. We were blown away by the exceptional quality and generous portions of the meals. The culinary experience was truly memorable, leaving our taste buds satisfied and our guests impressed.Our positive experience extended beyond Peppers Clearwater itself. As part of our holiday, we also stayed at Peppers in Lake Tekapo and Queenstown, and we can confidently say that Peppers as a brand has become a favorite of ours. The consistent level of excellence in service and amenities across their properties is commendable.Overall, our time at Peppers Clearwater was nothing short of exceptional. We wholeheartedly recommend this resort to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat with top-notch accommodations, complimentary breakfasts and outstanding dining experiences.
