AA Centre - Sydenham

AA Buchan St, are a wonderful bunch of humans.The security and reception staff are exceptionally kind and helpful.The driver instructor I saw was very helpful, informative, and kind.He listened to me, and gave me practical advice, while teaching me vital skills for driving, in a practical way!I will always go through this branch!Keep up the good work team!Kind regardsNicole Barrett

Had a bit of a wait, but at my turn staff were extremely helpful, patient, efficient and nice, it was much appreciated.

Appalling wait times. After waiting for 45 minutes to relicense a car, I gave up and left. In the time I had been standing there they had served 3 people. Another customer had been waiting an hour and a half, just to be told the person they needed to see had gone to lunch.AA, you really need to do something to improve the processing times at this location, as this is insanity. Nobody should be expected to wait this long to complete a simple transaction.

I wanted some advice on insurance and an old lady with dark hair and glasses sat me down at her desk. I told her what I wanted to discuss and she said that she had to rush off to a meeting but would be back in 5 minutes. I was sat there waiting at her desk only for her to return half an hour later holding a McDonalds. After a further 20 minutes of waiting she finally came back to her desk and said that she's too busy to help me and gave me a card with a number to call. It seems these sales people will find time for you if you want to take out insurance but when you need help with something then they dont wanna know

After coming to NZ I had to worst experience here in AA Sydenham. I am very shocked to see this kind of RACIST behavior, specially on 19th May! When we are celebrating equality and spreading awareness about Bullying! The one old lady at the last counter and the manager were really rude. First time I had a such bad experience in NZ which made me cry!

Had a very disappointing experience, yesterday.Took off early from work to get there to apply for a P endorsement.Have to admit that I walked in at 4.50pm sharp and was stopped by the security person, who told me that they do not take any new clients due to the looming closing time at 5pm. I could not see any clients in the waiting room and only 3 AA staff behind their counter (probably getting ready to walk out at 5pm, sharp).I made him aware that I could not get here earlier due to work commitment (I work 9am to 5pm) and that its still 10 min till official closing time. His response was that he is sending clients away since 4.30pm!!!My questions to management of the AA Sydenham is:Why advertising a 5 pm closing time if clients can't get in during official opening hours or after 4.30pm?And, how does people that work 9am to 5pm during the week are supposed to use the AA Centre? I hope you do not propose that they must take annual leave for a 10 min application (in my case!). Looking forward to your reply.

Great service today. Staff member was very helpful and understanding with my family member who needed to renew their license. This was despite the place being very busy. Would go back just because of this. As this is near a main road this place can get quite busy. There is parking but usually full due to the testing station.

One of the worst experience at AA SydenhamWent there to convert overseas licence first time - First Lady was really helpful and provided all the information needed. went there second time reached there around 4 PM and have been told they can’t help as too many people already waiting and they close at 5 PMWent there again today for the same thing, waited in queue for hour and a half and then the lady was very bad with her behaviour with us - We had all the original documents as they have asked last time but just one thing we have to take from online website and last time we emailed that to them and they printed it out but this time they said they can’t print it out as they no longer print the docs and the rule changed just this week - We explained everything but the behaviour very very poor by the lady and the manager as well - they both were laughing behind our back when we were coming back from there - I’d say a racist behaviour from ManagerWorst customer serviceWorst managementWorst managerPlease do not waste your time going there

I needed to transfer my overseas license. The CS person mumbled about needing an extra piece if paper but without saying what type or how I get it. Not nice, not competent, bureaucratic and officious. When I expressed my frustration she got angry and told me to leave and not come back.
