Waimarama Holiday Park

We’ve spent our summer at many campgrounds and this one has the most facilities yet. Everything was clean and the managers are very friendly. There are undesignated unpowered camping sites on the beach side of the facilities and powered sites on the other. The beach side can be very windswept as there’s no windbreak. It’d be great if the managers plant trees between the holiday park and public domain to provide shade, privacy and wind shelter.The beach is a short walk from the camp and the waimaramara store is approximately a 5 minute walk away.The camp has a laundry, hot showers, kitchen facilities and playground. Peta are allowed.This is a family friendly park.My favourite unique feature of this park is the office which apparently used to be the old Napier Air Traffic Control tower.

Great location, very friendly. Very tidy and clean. Please fix the outdoor shower, so can rinse off after being down beach would be the only issue. Otherwise fabulous camp ground. Will be back for sure.

It's a real old school camping experience. The owners are awesome and the sites are huge. The beach is stunning. If going there I would stock up as it's a bit of a drive to Hastings. There is a country store in town with good fish n chips

Five stars for an amazing host. Made us feel instantly welcomed. Ed is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet. We enjoyed his banter, humor and hospitality. The camp is very down to earth and unpretentious and a skip away from an amazing beach.

Great services, the amenities blocks were very clean, had everything you needed and loved the covered BBQ area.After spending a few hours taking photos and talking to locals, it was clear that this is a close community with everyone having an inner connection to each other and the land.When I checked in with Ed, I felt like part of the family, and we had a good yarn about photo opportunity spots.The beach is fantastic, and this campground has made it on my top return list.
