Easy loop walk, you can have a picnic at the Sunny Bight beach too. There was no one else when I was there.

Kahikatea Forest Walk
This is a beautiful short walk through lovely native forrest and by a crystal clear stream. You feel like you're in another world. It only takes about 10-15 minutes to go around the loop. It's pretty flat and some areas are boardwalk so it's not too much trouble for most folks. The start is right of the parking lot at the Sunny Bight Picnic Area. There's restrooms nearby as well.

Awesome maintained trackPlenty of parking and onsite toilets there was a AED (Defibrillator) with running water in the toilets.Great location with breathtaking views in a 360 direction12kms from Hokitika township and a truly scenic drive all the way there...Great walk for the kids and elderly...You'll notice a clearing partway through the the track this is a very historical maori pa site seems a bit weird that there is dense bush everywhere then suddenly an obvious clearing appears its very inspiring.Love this track have walked it for years and it's still well looked after
