On the website it said it will be $45 for 3 people for a non powered site and when we went in to book she said $67 and the website was wrong. The place is rather sad and really dated. It really felt like they are trying to provide the bare minimum and get the maximum price. We left as I would rather pay for one of the other camp sites with better facilities.

The manager was extremely helpful. Our ferry was cancelled and we were able to stay an extra night. Our border collie dog was welcome and the room was well laid out. It motel is close to shops and takeaways and only a short walk to the main street and the beach.

Tried to charge us more than the website said. Apparently “it must be a system error”. High price for very basic facilities. Would not stay again. Across the road the top ten is only a couple dollars more and far far far better. Or there’s a free campsite a few km down the road.

Have Really Enjoyed our time at this establishment. Room was adequate with everything we needed being available. This Motel Is an Icon being Built in 1957 so No doubt it has Hosted many families from around the World. We will Return to this Gem. Fiona And her Family were very welcoming always lovely to see smiling faces. Fiona escorted us to our room.

Good location, bathroom and kitchen clean, staff friendly.... however, this is no place for a campsite! All night long we were kept awake by articulated lorries driving along the road/ Bridge, and didn't get any sleep. I wouldn't stay again!

Came from Picton to meet up with a couple of friends from Christchurch. This was our first time staying in our vans at this site and we’ll definitely be back. Very clean, friendly owners and a great position for the town. You couldn’t ask for more in a campsite. Thank you, Mark and Sue (and the dogs)

Very good location. So close to town and Whale watching office. Good, strong showers and kitchen facilities.We were in a powered site and felt quite crammed in. Had to ask our neighbour to move so we could get out. It’s a busy time of year though so that may be why. The place is a bit run-down and could do with a tidy.

Dated and in need of a huge revamp. Central to town but set against a noisy , busy road. Lovely setting against the river. Grounds could do with a tidy up which would make a big difference. The bathrooms are very dated , there has been an effort to tidy up the grounds and a handyman is currently doing some building work., but it will take awhile to get this place up with others.

Friendly, helpful staff! We went for a 4 days vacation and totally enjoyed that here! Excellent location, just few minutes walk from Kaikoura City Centre. Clean well-maintained rooms.Highly Recommend!!!!

The room was new renovated spacious and comfortable. The receptionist and the chamber maid were very friendly and helpful. Also recommended a good seafood fish and chips just 2 mints next door is restaurant.. pizza The place is close to restaurants and town center. I would highly recommend this place.
