Mexi Mama

I'm a fussy eater so I examined the menu before arriving and decided to go with the potato and leek tacos. They were AMAZING! We all enjoyed our meals and had great service through out the night. I was so full I didn't even have room for dessert (very rare). Was a great night out, lots of laughs. Will definitely be back

We visited Mexi Mama for a family dinner with our 2 year old. We we warmly greeted by James and he hooked us up with a child seat instantly. The waitress also gave us colouring-in stuff without promoting = great proactive service.We were comfortably seated in a Mexican style booth with lots of room and fun cushions.We ordered the Taco Tuesday special and were delighted with all the dishes served. The corn bread was just the right amount of moist, packed with nice flavour. The prawn tacos were a taste explosion and the chicken ones were A-grade Mexican fare, with a little local infusion. We really enjoyed everything.The place itself was stylish and buzzing. The music was at the perfect volume and the food came out quickly. A top dining experience from start to finish.

Just celebrated a 50th birthday at this awesome restaurant. They had a seperate area that was perfect for our crowd of 20. Jamie put together a perfect menu for us - which was amazing! The venue is great, the service was fantastic and the food delicious. I would highly recommend this great place - thanks Jamie and team :-)

Just spent taco Tuesday here for dinner. Food was amazing, chicken taco was delicious and the fried chicken was so good got a second serving. Atmosphere was great and the service, our waiter was down for some good old banter :). Will be returning for sure.

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience.. awesome from the margaritas to the service and the yummy food.. nice touch too with fat boy slim music with the concert happening that night..

The service was welcoming and the food was so delicious and spicy. I will definitely find it hard to go to any other place thanks again to the big guy for making our dinner a great experience in Napier.

Used to absolutely love this place & the food is excellent but our service tonight was extremely poor.The water was not refilled, several staff members were seen standing around or gazing out the window, and our drinks were only delivered to the table after we had nearly finished dinner (I actually had to go up to the bar to retrieve them as they had been sitting there for quite some time, a waitress then pushed past me to take them to the table with no apology for being rude or delivering the drinks late.)We then swapped the bottle of wine we ordered for just one glass as the person who ordered it wasn't going to be able to drink it all in such a short time (it was very obvious they were wanting us to leave so they could close - even though it was only 8pm) they tried to charge us for the whole bottle, probably hoping we didn't read the bill before paying.ETA: Not able to reply to the owners comment, sorry! Great meal for 4 people. Good value. Mix of vegetarians and meat eaters all catered for.
