Salt Air Cafe
Tucked away down a driveway is this sweet cafe. We grabbed a coffee and scones and sat out in the garden area enjoying the sun. Loads to choose from on the breakfast menu, and lots in the food cabinet. GF options available too. Not well signposted, but maybe the locals want to keep it a secret!

We received real attitude from the boss man after trying to sit in what we believed to be a covered outdoor area (seperated by a wall & door to the main part of the cafe, and plastic blinds over windows - very outdoor feeling) with our small dog. We received no I'm sorry

Most assuredly will return to this neck of the north. A quick stop in for an iced mocha & fries, so delish!!! A cute intimate venue with friendly service & surprisingly a lot of seating. As you get closer to the place, you then realize how large the section is.

The cabinet food and especially their pies are delicious. We both had a very smooth and satisfying coffee. Will definitely come back for our cafe fix and to chat with the awesome staff.

Purchased a lamb and Kumara pie, wedges and a gluten free toastie. The pie was very bland and the pastry was raw on the bottom. The wedges were also very bland and was a small serving. Gluten free toastie was average. I would consider the cost of each item very overpriced considering the quality and serving size. The service was very good, they did make an effort to ensure the toastie was celiac friendly. However, none of the other gf options are celiac friendly.

Mussel Fritter looked amazing in the cabinet. It was heated on request. But it was still cold in the middle. I was in a rush, so I did not bother to go back. Cake slice was very delish.

Best Fish Meal on the Tutukaka Coast, Pizzas are also nice, Steak Meal needs improvement. Nice chilled and relax quiet cafe ... new chef and waiter started...lovely couple :)
