Non vegetarian restaurant

I've eaten ALOT of curry in my life all through NZ - mainly butter chicken. This one was easily in the top 3 if not best of them all. Mouthwateringly tender bits of chicken (and a decent amount), perfectly spiced medium butter chicken sauce with texture that held (hate them runny or like tomato soup) and just delish in general. I have never done this sort of thing as I sort of think when you get food from anywhere its always a risk. However, I was so floored by what my family and I had from Tikka House that I felt like I had no option. We ordered the Tikka Platter which has a mix of meat and seafood pieces coated in a Tikka masala and cooked in the normal way. We also ordered the Butter Chicken and that was where we struck a problem. I have had butter chicken from various restaurants both dine-in and street-food both in Western countries and the Middle East and this was the worst I have ever had. It essentially was chicken pieces in cheap tomato soup. There was no redeeming qualities at all. From the taste to the smell it was just horrible. We had ordered our food later than what would be normally considered dinner time in NZ and if the restaurant had been opened still when I went to eat it I would have made the effort to take it back to the restaurant. I will not say that the restaurant as a whole were awful because they weren't. When I picked up our order they were happy to make naan for me on the spot no questions asked and that was much appreciated. Who knows maybe they were having an off night but because of this experience we will never order from here again.

In short, food was below average and no where near the Taiwanese flavor. Even if I look at it as a modified Taiwanese cuisine, I still wouldn't recommend to anyone as it's just not worth the money.We ordered the Taiwanese Three-Cup Chicken (San Bei Chicken 三杯雞）, Pork Bao （虎咬豬）, Oyster Omelette （蚵仔煎）, Chicken Roll （雞捲）, and a Taro Bubble Tea （芋泥波波奶茶）. The chicken was way too sweet. Pork Bao had lots of sauerkraut but not even pork belly. The batter of Oyster Omelette was done wrong so it was really really slimy, plus when the oyster was defrost, it wasn't washed so we chewed on several shells in our omelette. The boba in the Taro Bubble Tea wasn't cooked properly so it was hard on the inside but the outside is soogy/gooey, not chewy at all; not even taro paste but the tea is ok. The Chicken Roll was the only thing we ordered that was ok. In my opinion, the chef probably has never done or tried any Taiwanese dishes at all.We won't go back or recommend to anyone.

This restaurant opened in November 2022. Mostly featuring Taiwanese food including stincky tofu, popcorn chicken, chewy meatballs, chicken cutlet and more. The food is not bad, but not all that authentic. They also offer a range of bubble tea with toppings and karaoke. The staff are nice and friendly. Table service is quick too.

Excellent service: as always with indian restaurants you should really choose the level of spiciness correctly. Do it wrong and you end up with bland food or with food that burns your mouth and kills all taste. We went with mild medium and it was just right.Very buttery cheese naan. Butter chicken was sweet and tomato-y.

I really wish we can leave a 0 star review instead. This sad bowl of noodles is literally a disgrace to taiwan food. You can't even fill one spoon of noodle with the portion . Despite that, we tried to be reasonable to the manager" and say that we just wanted more noodle

Amazing food and pleasant ambience. Especially chicken tikka was mouth watering. We visited this place on our way to Auckland from Wellington and planned to revisit on our way back but didn’t happen.Great service and friendly staff. Thank you team! Hope to see you soon !

I first came here 7 months ago and the food was incredible, female wait staff were lovely and overall great value for money. I came back a few weeks ago thoroughly disappointed! We got the exact same however portions were much smaller than last time and not half as tasty! The waiter was not so friendly and I didn't really feel very welcomed.

Mango lassi was great! Had a thick texture and strong mango flavor.The food came out smaller in portion than expected but it was quite heavy so we were full by the end of it! We used “The first table” deal so it gave us half price off for the food (must buy a beverage per person with this deal).The tandoori mixed platter came with good variety for two ppl but I felt the presentation was average. The lamb madras tasted awesome though!

Sorry team, I really wanted to like the food but...Vegetarian Sweet and Sour pork... I called to check we received the right order and was told I did. I'm still very confused because there's literally no sauce. It tastes disgusting, like slimy nothing.The vegetarian popcorn chicken was good but the Sweet and Sour vege pork is inedible, I have literally ordered dinner from another restaurant.
