Bay of Islands was a port of many on our 52-night cruise aboard Celebrity Eclipse & Paihia Wharf was the best tender port thusfar. The floating docks were in excellent condition & well maintained with restrooms immediately available at the adjacent yacht club. If that weren't enough, there were readily available free shuttle buses into town. Wonderful place!

The local Council has done a wonderful job providing public amenities. Love the beach chairs plus the seating under the trees all located in front of the ferry terminal and Visitors Information Centre. There is a drinking fountain with a dog's bowl below it. A huge parking lot is located a short walk from the waterfront and there is limited street parking along the beachfront.Kudos to the Far North District Council for their efforts in making the Paihia waterfront such an attractive place for visitors and ferry passengers.

Paihia Wharf is where all the action happens. You can book and experience many activities here, including Helicopter, Parasailing and Hole in the Rock tours. You also catch the Passenger ferry across to Russell from here. There are some free parking further along the beach and restaurants nearby

Excellent town in the Bay of Islands, catch a ferry from here to Russel to visit a rustic old sea fairer's village.

Lovely location in Bay of Islands. Visited after a lunch cruise of the area. Very cool how the heli tours come in to land and take off from beside the wharf and its visitor centre and gift store.

Its a beautiful place located in city center. It has loads of benches to rest on and enjoy the pleasant weather.

6☆ location. Beautiful view. We just had coffee but the dishes being served all around us looked wonderful. There is seating outside and some furry friends laid at their owner's feet. The road ends at a park and beach. Very nice drive with this treat restaurant at the end.

Bought some nice souvenirs from here and then went onto market. Lots of different handmade craft items.
