Cosy little coffee shop, with nice options of meals for the kids. Small play area, as well as magazines for adults, and books for the kids to read. Lovely place

Went to the cafe today and I can honestly say it was not a great experience. limited menu (chips, wedges or toasties is all you can choose from as food goes). We waited 45 minutes for cold (hot) chips and milkshakes, which was basically fluffy milk. The one star was for a passable coffee. The fire wasn't going and was cold inside as outside. The service was average at best. Don't recommend this place...

I'm writing to you to acknowledge the staff at the North Egmont visitor centre Kamahi cafe. I visited Tahurangi Lodge and New Plymouth on the weekend just gone.When we came down from climbing Mt Egmont I went into the visitors centre cafe and purchased myself some food and drinks . I then traveled home.When I reached Te Kuiti I stopped to buy petrol and realised I didn't have my wallet. I contacted the Visitor Centre and they confirmed a lady Mel had found my wallet and handed it in to the doc staff. I really appreciate the honesty and integrity of Mel and the other cafe staff.Tilak Samarasekara
