This place is old but has this amazing home like feeling to it as it is a home converted into a backpackers. It's named after the bakery it used to be. Dorm rooms not available anymore. Have all been converted to double rooms. 25$ a night for a double room pp.

Great hostel with all amenities that you need. Host was lovely and gave us a full tour when we arrived. Can't say much more for the affordable price, especially as we weren't in a shared room.

It gets 5 stars for a backpacking hostel on the grounds of price, the extra amenities and most importantly the friendliness of the host. Trevor will even give you a tour of the place before you agree to anything. Genuine and transparent.

For my wife and I, this was definitely our best place to stay in the whole South Island. We lovingly refer to it as our home away from home. Our host Trevor blessed us with comfortable lodgings and all the amenities we required at that point in our journey.The next time we come this way we will definitely stay here again.

Trevor is very hospitable and welcoming. Had to change my dates due to weather, nothing was a problem for Trevor. It’s not the Ritz but great value. Very comfortable and central (5 minute stroll to the main shops), with everything you need for a great stay. It’s my second stay here and I’ll definitely be coming back again on my next motorcycle trip. Thanks for everything.

The best budget accomedation in town! Highly recommend to all bikepackers and backpackers,Wifi, hot shower, a bed, laundry and a kitchen with everything! All included for $30 for a double bed!Best host ever

The Old Breadshop Backpackers
We happened upon this place while travelling through Reefton, and were delighted. The price was the best I've had at a NZ hostel. It's a small cozy place with free movies to watch and free laundry, as well as friendly hosts. I would recommend this hostel to any traveler.
