This is a comfortable, old style department store. Several floors to explore and lots of stuff! Better than on-line shopping by far.Decorators manage the space well and provide interesting seasonal displaysFor a good experience as to how shopping can be enjoyable, come here

Love Ballantynes. Always helpful, friendly staff. Wide ranging selection of goods to suit every taste. The regular events they offer cater to a variety of tastes and ages. A visit to Christchurch is not complete without a trip to Ballantynes when I’m in Christchurch. Great and efficient service also when buying online from them

Poor service!Ordered two Easter eggs online and took over a week to be delivered (after Easter) kept an eye on tracking and it hadn’t changed for 6 days so contacted the store……..almost 4 days later and still not received a response but the order was delivered the day I contacted them…. Was that coincidence?!!….Would have been quicker to fly out and deliver my own eggs personally. Won’t be buying from this store again!…rubbish

My wife had a wonderful experience buying a new wallet at Ballantynes a few weeks ago so I went in expecting the same. Unfortunately men aren’t the priority customer. Nearly all the men’s wallets (there’s not very many) are locked behind glass (the women’s ones aren’t) meaning I couldn’t browse them at my own leisure, so after waiting some time to be shown a Ted Baker wallet which turned out to feel cheaply made, I gave in and took my money elsewhere.

Sunday 19/2/23 my life-long friend and out-of-town I, did our yearly obligatory shop at Ballantynes to remember our Mums. Big thanks to Yukari in Women’s Wear for her enthusiasm and professionalism helping us, and the cafe staff downstairs.. always a delight coming home to Ballantynes ‼️❤️
